West Berkshire - Multiple Temporary Road Closures due to Utility Works
What is happening?

UNDER SECTION 14/1 OF THE ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
WEST BERKSHIRE DISTRICT COUNCIL (THE COUNCIL) INTENDS TO MAKE ORDERS AS FOLLOWING
(TROWES LANE, BEECH HILL)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) ORDER 2025
The Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make an order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding in any direction over Trowes Lane in Beech Hill between its junction with Unnamed Road from The Broadway to Chequer Lane and its junction with Park Lane.
The alternative route for all vehicles affected by the Order is via Chequer Lane, Unnamed Road from The Broadway to Chequer Lane and vice versa.
The purpose of this Order is to enable works to take place on or near the highway, namely for Openreach to carry out works on manhole frame and cover.
The proposed Order will come into effect on 5th June 2025. It is envisaged that the closure will be in place between 5th and 6th June 2025.
(GORING LANE, PARISH OF WOKEFIELD)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) ORDER 2025
The Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make an order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding in any direction over Goring Lane in Wokefield between its junction with Palmers Lane to property known as PH Old Bell.
The alternative route for all vehicles affected by the Order is via Bloomfield Hatch Lane, The Street, Victoria Road, Reading Road, and vice versa.
The purpose of this Order is to enable works to take place on or near the highway, namely for BT Openreach for safe access to underground surface to block cabling.
The proposed Order will come into effect on 6th June 2025. It is envisaged that the closure will be in place on 6th June 2025 from the hours of 09:30 - 15:30.
Unless stated otherwise the above orders shall remain in force for a period of eighteen months, or until the works are complete, whichever is the soonest, they will not be enforced if approved traffic signs have been erected.
