What is happening?
Hertfordshire County Council:
(Temporary Closing And Temporary Waiting Restrictions In High Street, Watton At Stone) Order 2025
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of High Street, Watton At Stone from its junction with Walkern Road south eastwards to its junction with Ware Road, a distance of approximately 1025m (“the Road”), except for access.
An alternative route will be via High Street, A602 Watton at Stone Bypass and Ware Road.
ADDITIONALLY all vehicles are prohibited from waiting at any time on both sides of this length of the Road whilst works are in progress.
The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 4 June 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(Temporary Closing Of Crabbs Lane, Stocking Pelham) Order 2025
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Crabbs Lane, Stocking Pelham from a point 17m south east of its junction with Ginns Road south eastwards for a distance of approximately 30m (“the Road”), except for access.
There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.
The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 4 June 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Crib Street, Ware from its junction with Princes Street north eastwards for a distance of approximately 12m (“the Road”), except for access.
An alternative route will be via Crib Street, Church Street, A1170 (High Street/ Baldock Street), The Bourne and Crib Street.
The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 4 June 2025 for a period of up to 18 months.
However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(Temporary Closing Of Warren Lane, Braughing) Order 2025
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Warren Lane, Braughing from its junction with Ford Street south eastwards to its junctions with A120 Standon Road, a distance of approximately 2841m (“the Road”), except for access.
An alternative route will be via Ford Street, B1368 (Station Road/Wickham Hill), Buntingford Road, High Street, Station Road and A120 (Kents Lane/ Stortford Road/Standon Road) or via A120 (Standon Road/Little Hadham Bypass), Albury Road, Clapgate, Gravesend, C15 (unnamed road), C35 (unnamed road), Patient End, Braughing Road, Pelham Road, The Street and Ford Street.
The Order is needed because the replacement of an existing utility pole and tree cutting works are proposed to be executed near the Road.
If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 3 June 2025 for a period of up to 18 months.
However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(Temporary Closing Of Various Roads In Hertford Heath, High Cross And Rush Green) Order 2025
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the following lengths of roads (“the Roads”), except for access:-
1. that length of Downfield Road, Hertford Heath from its junction with Mount Pleasant north eastwards, northwards, north eastwards, north westwards and north eastwards to its junction with B1502 Stanstead Road, a distance of approximately 1189m.
An alternative route will be via Mount Pleasant, Church Hill, B1197 London Road, A414 Rush Green Link and B1502 Stanstead Road.
2. that length of Standon Green End, High Cross from its junction with Potters Green north eastwards, south eastwards, north eastwards and south eastwards to its junction with Ermine Street, a distance of approximately 1563m. An alternative route will be via Potters Green, Rowney Lane, Marshalls Lane, High Street and Ermine Street.
3. the access road leading to ‘Rush Green Farm’, Rush Green from its junction with Downfield Road south westwards and north westwards for its entire length.
There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out.

(Temporary Closing Of C95 (Unnamed Road), Levens Green) Order 2025
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of C95 (unnamed road), Levens Green from its junction with Beggarmans Lane north westwards for a distance of approximately 780m (“the Road”), except for access.
An alternative route will be via C95 (unnamed road), Stockalls Lane, C16 Great Munden, Munden Road, Mill Road and C95 (unnamed road). The Order is needed because tarmac installation works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 2 June 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(Temporary Closing And Temporary Waiting Restrictions In East End, Furneux Pelham) Order 2025
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of East End, Furneux Pelham from its junction with Ginns Road westwards for a distance of approximately 1550m (“the Road”), except for access.
An alternative route will be via Maggots End, Manuden Road, Ginns Road and The Wash.
ADDITIONALLY all vehicles are prohibited from waiting at any time on both sides of this length of the Road whilst works are in progress.
The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 2 June 2025 for a period of up to 18 months.
However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(Temporary Closing Of The Footpath Situated To The Rear Of Nos.24-32 Fleming Close And Nos.77-107 Smarts Green, Cheshunt) Order 2025
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all pedestrians from using the footpath situated to the rear of Nos.24-32 Fleming Close and Nos.77-107 Smarts Green, Cheshunt from its junction with Adamsfield south eastwards to its junction with Longfield Lane, a distance of approximately 223m (“the Footpath”).
An alternative route will be via the footway situated on the south west and north west sides of Adamsfield and the footway situated on the north side of Longfield Lane.
The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Footpath.
If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 2 June 2025 for a period of up to 6 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Footpath.

(Temporary Closing Of Bucks Alley, Essendon) Order 2025
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Bucks Alley, Essendon from a point 70m south east of its junction with Robins Nest Hill south eastwards for a distance of approximately 74m (“the Road”), except for access.
An alternative route will be via Bucks Alley, Robins Nest Hill, Church Road, C54 (unnamed road), White Stubbs Lane, Ashendene Road and Bucks Alley.
The Order is needed because the replacement of an existing substation is proposed to be executed near the Road.
If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 2 June 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(Temporary Closing Of Calton Avenue, Hertford) Order 2025
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Calton Avenue, Hertford from its junction with Edmunds Road south eastwards to its junction with Windsor Drive, a distance of approximately 319m (“the Road”).
An alternative route will be via Calton Avenue, Bentley Road and Windsor Drive.
The Order is needed because the replacement of an existing utility cover is proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
The Order has been made and shall come into force on 21 May 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(Temporary Closing Of Priory Street, Ware) Order 2025
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Priory Street, Ware from a point 49m north west of its junction with Mill Close south westwards to its junction with Maplethorpe Court, a distance of approximately 53m (“the Road”).
An alternative route will be via Priory Street, A1170 Baldock Street, B1001 Watton Road, Park Road, Harriss Lane and Priory Street.
The Order is needed because utility service connection works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
The Order has been made and shall come into force on 22 May 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(Temporary Closing Of Gascoyne Way Service Road, Hertford) Order 2025
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Gascoyne Way Service Road, Hertford from a point 30m north east of its westernmost junction with A414 Gascoyne Way north eastwards for a distance of approximately 30m (“the Road”).
There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.
The Order is needed because electrical connection works are proposed to be executed near the Road.
The Order has been made and shall come into force on 19 May 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of B1038 (unnamed road), Buntingford from a point 35m north east of its junction with B1368 (unnamed road) north eastwards for a distance of approximately 80m (“the Road”).
An alternative route will be via B1038 (unnamed road), B1368 (unnamed road/Dassels Hill/ Dassels/Hay Street/Green End/Station Road/Wickham Hill/ Buntingford Road), A10 Puckeridge Bypass, A120 (Standon Hill/Kents Lane/ Stortford Road/Standon Road/Little Hadham Bypass/Hadham Road), A1250 (Hadham Road/Link Road), B1004 (Northgate End/Rye Street/Michaels Road), B1383 (Stanstead Road/Pines Hill/Silver Street/Cambridge Road/London Road/ unnamed road/London Road/High Street) and B1038 (Wicken Road/ unnamed road/Clatterbury Lane/High Street/Pump Hill/Conduit Lane/ unnamed road).
The Order is needed because electrical works are proposed to be executed near the Road.

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Fanhams Hall Road, Ware/Wareside from its junction with 3U151 (unnamed road) north eastwards, south westwards, north westwards, south westwards and north westwards to its junction with High Oaks Road, a distance of approximately 3567m (“the Road”), except for access.
An alternative route will be via Fanhams Hall Road, C41 (unnamed road), 3U157 (unnamed road), 3U158 (unnamed road), B1004 (Ware Road/Widbury Hill/Star Street), A1170 (High Road/Baldock Street), The Bourne, Collett Road and High Oaks Road.

(Temporary Closing Of Vicarage Road, Ware) Order 2025
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Vicarage Road, Ware from its junction with Bowling Road south eastwards and south westwards to its junction with B1004 Star Street, a distance of approximately 340m (“the Road”), except for access.
An alternative route will be via Bowling Road and B1004 Star Street. The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
The Order has been made and shall come into force on 20 May 2025 for a period of up to 18 months.
However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(Sayesbury Road, Sayesbury Avenue, Gilders And Roseacres, Sawbridgeworth) (Restriction Of Waiting) Order 2025
NOTICE is given that the Hertfordshire County Council in order to improve road safety proposes under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 to introduce new waiting restrictions in parts of Sawbridgeworth as specified in the Schedule to this Notice.
Documents giving more detailed particulars of the proposals may be viewed from 15 May 2025 during office hours, at Main Reception, County Hall, Hertford, or on-line at www.hertfordshire.gov.uk/trafficorders by selecting East Herts and looking at Ref: EH00525.
