(TEMPORARY CLOSING) ORDER 2025

The Scottish Borders Council (Old Station Car Park, Newtown St Boswells) (Temporary Closing) Order 2025 has been made under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended. The Order, which has a maximum duration of 18 months, will come into force for a period of ten weeks from 08:00 on 19 May 2025 and is expected to remain in effect until 18:00 on 27 July 2025 - 24 hour closure. The Order is required for formation of a

storage area for surface dressing chips.

When the Order comes into effect no person shall (i) drive or cause or permit to be driven any vehicle; and (ii) permit any vehicle to wait or to be parked, in Old Station Car Park, Newtown St Boswells.

(TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION) ORDER 2025

The Scottish Borders Council (Jim Clark Rally) (Temporary Traffic Regulation) Order 2025 is being made under Section 16A of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended. The Order, which has a maximum duration of three days, will come into force at 07:30 on 23 May 2025 and is expected to remain in effect until 20:00 on 25 May 2025.  The Order is required to allow the staging of the 2025 Jim Clark Rally on certain closed public roads. When the Order comes into effect no person shall, without the authority of the Council:

(a)   drive or cause or permit to be driven any vehicle; or

(b)  permit any vehicle to wait or to be parked; or

(c)   ride, or cause or permit to be ridden any cycle, or ride, lead or drive any animal; or

(d)  walk, along those lengths of road on the dates and at the times specified in the Schedule below.

Pedestrian access to residential properties on or adjacent to the roads will be permitted at safe intervals and will be escorted by marshals on site.

A temporary 20mph speed restriction will be in force from 08:00 on 23 May 2025 to 20:00 on 25 May 2025 on Station Road, Duns from the existing 20mph signs southwards for 740 metres.

Copies of the Order and maps illustrating the areas affected may be examined from Monday to Thursday from

09:00 to 17:00 and on Friday from 09:00 to 16:00 at Traffic and Road Safety, Network, Infrastructure and
