THE COUNCIL OF THE BOROUGH OF ST. HELENS
(A49 HIGH STREET, NEWTON) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) ORDER 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the St. Helens Borough Council propose not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an order under the provisions of Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as Amended), the effect of which will be that no person shall cause or permit any vehicle to proceed in either direction along A49 High Street between Rodeken and Walmsley Street, as and when directed by road traffic signs on-site.
The Order will come into force on Monday 21st July, 2025, and will have a maximum duration of eighteen months, but will terminate on completion of the works, which is expected to be nine days.
The alternative route be via A49 Church Street, A572 Southworth Road, A573 Golborne Dale Road, A573 Warrington Road, A580 East Lancashire Road, A49 Lodge Lane, A49 Ashton Road and vice versa.
The reason for making this Order is to facilitate repairs to the sewer.
