EAST SUSSEX COUNTY COUNCIL

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
The East Sussex (Public Footpath Wivelsfield 10b,
Wivelsfield 22b (part))
(Temporary Footpath Closure) Order 2024

To protect public safety during a housing development, the Secretary of State has extended the above East Sussex County Council’s Order made on 15 November 2024 under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following footpaths:

Temporary Footpath Closure

The whole of Public Footpath Wivelsfield 10b will be closed to all users between TQ 3434 2021 and TQ 3408 2023 for 260 metres. Part of Public Footpath Wivelsfield 22b will be closed to all users between TQ 3435 2009 and 3434 2021 for 127 metres.

Unfortunately, there is no alternative route for Wivelsfield 10b at this time but one may become available later. An alternative route for Wivelsfield 22b will be available roughly parallel to the east of it.

The closure will be in force for 18 months from 23 May 2025, or until the works are completed, whichever is the earlier, which after this period will require an extension from the Secretary of State, should the footpaths still be unavailable to use.

If you require any further information, you should telephone the Rights of Way Office on 0345 60 80 193.

Philip Baker,
