What is happening?

North Yorkshire Council, 20 Mph Speed Limit, Various Roads, Church Fenton, Order 2025 Notice
is hereby given that on 09/05/25 The North Yorkshire Council made an Order under Sections 84(1) & (2)
of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 & Part IV of Schedule 9 to the 1984 Act, the effect of which is to
prohibit any motor vehicle from travelling at a speed in excess of 20 mph on any length of road specified
in Schedule 1 below & at a speed in excess of 30 mph on any length of road specified in Schedule 2
below: Schedule 1 - Roads in the Parish of Church Fenton - 20 Mph Speed Limit Main Street, from its
junction with Station Road / Oakwood Close to its junction with Northfield Lane. Main Street, form its
junction with Northfield Lane for a distance of 90 metres in an easterly direction. Church Street (C312),
from its junction with Station Road / Main Street for a distance of 93 metres in a southerly direction.
Northfield Lane, full length. Schedule 2 - Roads in the Parish of Church Fenton - 30 Mph Speed Limit
Main Street, from its junction with Northfield Lane to its junction with Busk Lane. Church Street (C312)
including service road at Church End Farm, from a point 93 metres south of its junction with Main Street /
Station Road for a distance of 357 metres in a southerly direction. Station Road, from its junction with
Oakwood Close to a point 140 metres west of Sandwath Lane. A copy of the Order, which comes into
operation on 19/05/25, may be examined at County Hall, Northallerton & at Sherburn & Villages
Community Library, Finkle Hill, Sherburn In Elmet, LS25 6EA during normal office hours from 05/05/25
until 20/06/25 & also viewed online at www.northyorks.gov.uk/roadworks-map or
www.northyorks.gov.uk/traffic-regulation-orders. If you wish to question the validity of the Order or of any
provision contained in it, on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic
Regulation Act 1984, as amended, or on the grounds that any requirement of that Act, or of any
Instrument made under it, has not been complied with in relation to the Order, you may, within 6 weeks of
09/05/25 make application to the High Court for the purpose.
Prohibition of Waiting & Loading & Provision of Parking, Amendment No 59, Order 2025 Notice is
hereby given that on 09/05/25 The North Yorkshire Council made an Order under Sections 1(1), 2(1) to
(3), 4(2), 32(1) & 35(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 & Part IV of Schedule 9 to the 1984 Act &
under the Traffic Management Act 2004, the effect of which is to amend “North Yorkshire County Council
(Prohibition of Waiting & Loading & Provision of Parking) (District of Selby) Consolidation Order 2013” by
introducing the restrictions specified below:- Waiting Prohibited at all Times With Exemptions
Sherburn In Elmet, Low Street, West side from opposite to Cricketers Way Access (3 Chestnut Gardens),
Low Street, Sherburn in Elmet up to access of Bramble Court. A copy of the Order, which comes into
operation on 19/05/25, together with a map showing the roads affected may be examined at County Hall,
Northallerton & at Sherburn and Villages Community Library, Finkle Hill, Sherburn in Elmet, LS25 6EA
during normal office hours from 15/05/25 to 20/06/25 & also viewed online at
www.northyorks.gov.uk/roadworks-map or www.northyorks.gov.uk/traffic-regulation-orders. If you wish to
question the validity of the above Order or of any provision contained in it, on the grounds that it is not
within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, or on the grounds that
any requirement of that Act, or of any Instrument made under it, has not been complied with in relation to
the Order, you may, within 6 weeks of 09/05/25 make application to the High Court for the purpose.
40 Mph Speed Limit, Skipwith Road, Mill Hill, Escrick, Order 2025 Notice is hereby given that The
North Yorkshire Council proposes to make an Order under Sections 84(1) & (2) of the Road Traffic
Regulation Act 1984 & Part IV of Schedule 9 to the 1984 Act, the effect of which will be to prohibit any
motor vehicle from travelling at a speed in excess of 40 mph on any length of road specified below:-
Skipwith Road, Mill Hill, Escrick, 40mph Speed Limit Mill Hill, from its junction with Wheldrake Lane
for a distance of 128 metres in a south easterly direction. Skipwith Road, from its junction with Wheldrake
Lane for a distance of 392 metres in a north westerly direction. A copy of the draft Order, together with a
map showing the roads affected & a statement of the Council’s reasons for proposing to make the Order
may be inspected at County Hall, Northallerton & at Selby Library, 52 Micklegate, Selby, YO8 4EQ during
normal office hours from 15/05/25 until 05/06/25 & also viewed online at
www.northyorks.gov.uk/roadworks-map or www.northyorks.gov.uk/traffic-regulation-orders. If you wish to
object to the proposed Order, you should send the grounds for your objection, in writing addressed to The
North Yorkshire Council, Traffic Management, County Hall, Racecourse Lane, Northallerton, DL7 8AD or
by email to Traffic.management@northyorks.gov.uk or via the website link above by 05/06/25.
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic, Centre Lane, Tadcaster, Order 2025, No. 173 We intend to make
this Order to prohibit any vehicle from using Centre Lane, Tadcaster for a temporary period (subject to
access to premises) between 02/06/25 & 13/06/25, due to Section 50 works. However, the max duration
of this Order is until 02/08/25. The closure period will be indicated by traffic signs & a local alternative

Temporary 40 MPH Speed Restriction, Selby Bypass, Order 2025 No. 175 We intend to make this
Order to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding in excess of 40 mph along Selby Bypass for a temporary
period between 02/06/25 & 20/10/25, due to recabling & new column installation works. The restriction will

Temporary Prohibition of Traffic, Various Roads within Selby District, Order 2025, No. 179 We
intend to make this Order to prohibit any vehicle from using Colton Lane, Colton; Braegate Lane, Colton;
Busk Lane, Church Fenton; Busk Lane, Ulleskelf; Busk Lane to Moor Lane, Church Fenton; Biggin Lane,
Biggin; Oxmoor Lane, Biggin; Oxmoor Lane, Church Fenton; Brackenhill Lane, Church Fenton; A63 Selby
Road, Monk Fryston; A1041 Camblesforth Road, Barlow; Long Lane, Wistow; Dickey Lane, Wistow;
Black Fen Lane, Wistow; Sand Lane, Wistow; Robinsons Lane, Riccall; Cornelius Causeway, North
Duffield; Blackwood Road, Skipwith; Common Road, Skipwith; Green Lane, North Duffield; Hugh Field
Lane, North Duffield; Hugh Field North Lane, North Duffield; Roth Hill Lane, Thorganby & Ings Road,
Cliffe for a temporary period (subject to access to premises) between 02/06/25 & 30/11/25, due to
Carriageway Patching & Surfacing works. The closure period will be indicated by traffic signs & a local
