NOTICE OF CONFIRMATION OF PUBLIC PATH ORDER
HIGHWAYS ACT 1980 SECTION 119
THE DERBYSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
(PUBLIC FOOTPATH NO. 9 (PART) – PARISH OF HOLMESFIELD)
PUBLIC PATH DIVERSION ORDER 2025
On 9th January 2025, Derbyshire County Council confirmed the above order. The effect of the order as confirmed is to divert the whole width of that part of Holmesfield Public Footpath No. 9 commencing from Point A (Ordnance Survey Grid Reference (“GR”) SK 3108 7828) and proceeding in a generally north west, west-north west, north-north west then northerly direction to Point B (GR SK 3103 7843), a distance of 172 metres or thereabouts to a 2-metre-wide footpath on land surrounding Fanshawe Gate Hall in Holmesfield Parish. Commencing from the aforementioned Point A on a tarmac surface and then rolled stone verge on Fanshawe Gate Lane, in a generally north-north east direction to point C (GR SK 3108 7828), a distance of 3 metres or thereabouts and to a 2-metre-wide grass surfaced footpath from the aforementioned Point C, continuing in a north-north east direction to Point D (GR SK 3110 7834) a distance of 61 metres or thereabouts and to a 2-metre-wide grass surface footpath. Commencing from the aforementioned Point D in a north west direction crossing a field boundary and a culverted crossing over a small ditch at Point E (GR SK 3110 7834). From point E in a generally north-north west direction then north west, to Point B (GR SK 3103 7843), a distance of 119 metres or thereabouts as shown on the order map.

Documents can also be seen free of charge at County Hall, Matlock during normal office hours where copies may be bought at the price of £1.00 or at Dronfield Library, Manor House, High Street, Dronfield, S18 1PY during normal opening hours.
The order came into force on 9th January 2025 but if any person aggrieved by the order desires to question its validity or that of any provision contained in it on the ground that it is not within the powers of the above Act, or on the ground that any requirement of that Act or any regulation made under it has not been complied with in relation to the confirmation of the order, he or she may apply to the High Court for any of those purposes under Section 119 of Highways Act 1980 within 6 weeks from the date on which notice is first published.
