What is happening?
GRAVESHAM BOROUGH COUNCIL (OFF-STREET PARKING PLACES) (VARIATION NO. 6) ORDER 2025
The Gravesham Borough Council (hereinafter referred to as “the Council”) in exercise of its powers under Section 32, 34, 35, 39(3) and 124 and Parts III and IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, (hereinafter referred to as “the Act”), and of all other enabling powers, and with the consent of the Kent County Council given under section 39 of the Act and after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 of the Act, hereby proposes to make the following Order:
Amend Part C, section 5 and Schedule 1 of the Gravesham Borough Council (Off Street Parking Places) (Amendment & Consolidation) Order 2015 to:
• Introduce a three-hour free limit for blue badge holders in the following car parks. Standard charges will apply for all stays over three hours.
• Parrock Street
• Rathmore Road
• West Street
• Milton Place
• Ordnance Road
Amend Schedule 1 of the Gravesham Borough Council (Off-Street Parking Places) (Amendment & Consolidation) Order 2015 to:
• Introduce 24-hour maximum stay in Brookvale Car Park, removing the existing fourhour limit.
• Remove Lord Street Car Park.
• Remove Gurdwara Pay & Display Car Park.
• Remove Market Square Car Park.
• Remove Horn Yard Car Park.
Add Schedule 2 to the Gravesham Borough Council (Off-Street Parking Places) (Amendment & Consolidation) Order 2015 to:
• Introduce £30 annual administrative charge for Town Centre Worker Permits
Copies of the draft Order, the statement of the Council’s reasons for making the proposed Order, and a copy of any other Orders which will be amended by the proposed Order may be examined online at https://www.gravesham.gov.uk/parkingconsultations
Any objections and other representations to the proposed Order must be made in writing stating the grounds on which they are made and sent to the council within 21 days from the date of publication of this notice.
