What is happening?

OXFORDSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL

(MINSTER LOVELL PARISH) (SPEED LIMITS) ORDER 20**

NOTICE is given that Oxfordshire County Council proposes to make the above order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and all other enabling powers.

The effect of the order – in the interests of road safety – is to introduce 30mph speed limits in Minster Lovell as follows, replacing existing 40mph speed limits in the process:

  1. B4047 Burford Road – from a point 155 metres west of its junction with Holloway Lane, eastwards to a point 235 metres east of its junction with School Lane, and

  2. School Lane – from its junction with the B4047, north-westwards to a point 67 metres southeast of its junction with the road mapped as School Lane (but signed as Little Minster).

The Oxfordshire County Council (Minster Lovell) (Speed Limits) Order 2014 will be revoked/replaced as necessary. Documents giving more details of the proposals are available for public inspection online by visiting:

Objections to the proposals and other representations specifying the grounds on which they are made may be sent in writing to the address below by the end of 13 June 2025. The Council will consider objections and representations received in response to this Notice. They may be disseminated widely for these purposes and made available to the public. FINSTOCK-HAILEY AREA (SPEED LIMITS) ORDER 2025

NOTICE is given that on 12 May 2025 Oxfordshire County Council made the above order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The order, which comes into force on 19 May introduces a 20mph speed limit in Hailey, replacing the 30mph speed limits in their entirety in the areas leading out to the following points:

  1. B4022, Delly Hill (north-western end) –> a point 142 metres northwest of its junction with Priest Hill Lane.

  2. B4022 (south-eastern end) –> a point 12 metres southeast of Chapel Lane.

  3. Poffley End Lane

    a. south-western end – a point 65 metres southwest of Chapel Lane.

    b. north-eastern end – a point 220 metres northeast of Swanhall Lane.

  4. Priest Hill Lane – a point 210 metres southwest of the B4022 Delly Hill.

  5. Turley Lane – a point 72 metres northeast of its junction with Wood Lane.

  6. Withins Lane – a point 70 metres northeast of Delly Hill Lane.

However, the 20mph speed limit will still apply on Foxglove Close and on Finstock Lane from its junction with the B4022 in Hailey (Delly Hill), to a point 70 metres northwest of its junction with the B4022 in Finstock.

The existing 40mph & 50mph speed limits in the area remain unchanged. The 20mph limit is indicated by traffic signs. The Oxfordshire County Council (Finstock-Hailey Area) (Speed Limits) Order 2024 is revoked/replaced.

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 – SECTION 14(1)

Notice of Temporary Traffic Order

Stonesfield, Witney Lane

Prohibition of Through Traffic

Date of Order: 12 May 2025

Coming into force: 23 May 2025

This Order is being introduced for the laying of 500 metres of ducting for fibre cabling works, which is anticipated to be completed 11 June 2025. The effect of the Order is to temporarily prohibit any vehicles proceeding in Witney Lane from the junction of Laughton Hill to outside Spratts Farm. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed to indicate when the measures are in force. Exemptions are included for emergency services and for the works and for access to premises which are only accessible from the closed section of road. The alternative route for traffic is via locally signed diversion routes. The Order will remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed whichever is the sooner.

Notice of Temporary Traffic Order

Kingham, B4450 Station Road

40mph Speed Limit reduction

Date of Order: 12 May 2025

Coming into force: 18 May 2025

This Order is being introduced for road safety reasons to allow for cable duct works and traffic management to be undertaken safely near the railway station, which is anticipated to be completed 28 April 2026. Regular tests will be undertaken to ensure a safe working environment.

The effect of the Order is to temporarily reduce the national 60mph speed limit to 40mph on the B4450 Station Road from a point 45m south-east of the Station entrance to a point 70m north-west, as the road is insufficiently straight to provide traffic speeds.

Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed to indicate when the measures are in force. The Order will remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed whichever is the sooner.
