Definitive Map and Statement Modification Order 2025

The above Order made on 19 February 2025, has been confirmed by South
Gloucestershire Council. 

The effect of the order as confirmed is to modify the definitive map and statement for the area by adding to them the footpath commencing at the adopted highway on School Way, adjacent to No.1 School Way, at Point A on the Order plan (grid reference ST 5432 8456), running in a generally westerly direction along a surfaced path within the grounds and to the south of Ableton Court for a distance of 71m to meet the adopted highway and public footpath ORN 19 at Ableton Lane at Point B (grid reference ST 5425 8456). 

Shown as a bold broken line marked A – B on the map contained in this order. The width of the path is 1.8m throughout its length. The total length is 71m. 

The number of the footpath to be added is ORN 83. 

The order became operative on 7 May 2025 and a copy of the order, as confirmed, and the order map may be seen free of charge at Patchway One Stop Shop, The Patchway Hub, Rodway Road, Patchway, BS34 5PE.

Any person aggrieved by the order who desires to question the validity of, or of any provision contained therein on the grounds that it is not within the relevant powers of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981, or on the grounds that any of the relevant requirements of that Act has not been complied with in relation to the order, may within six weeks of the date of this Notice, apply to the High Court for this purpose.


Notice Of Making Of An Order Highways Act 1980

(Footpath OAN25 (Part) at The Manor House, Forty Acre Lane, Alveston) 
Public Path Diversion and Definitive Map and Statement Modification Order 2025

The above order, made on 7 May 2025, under section 119 of the Highways Act 1980, will divert that length of public footpath OAN 25 in the Parish of Alveston in the Unitary District of South Gloucestershire from Point A (grid reference ST 6338 8723), 44m south of the entrance gate to Hawkins Hide allotments, running in a south-southwesterly direction through a wooded area for a distance of 64m to the field boundary at Point B (grid reference ST 6336 8717) then in a generally southerly direction across a field for a distance of 221m to a point 3m from the edge of the field at Point C (grid reference ST 6333 8696). 

Shown by a bold continuous line marked A – B – C on the order map; to a line running from the said Point A (grid reference ST 6338 8723) running in a south-southwesterly direction for a distance of 72m to the southern boundary of the wooded area at Point D (grid reference ST 6335 8717) where it swings westwards and follows the hedged field boundary in a southwesterly direction for a distance of 156m to the field corner at Point E (grid reference ST 6325 8706) then in a southeasterly direction following the field boundary for a distance of 134m to meet the unaffected part of the path, 3m northeast of the field boundary gate, at Point C (grid reference ST 6333 8696). 

Having a width throughout of 2m and shown by a bold broken line marked A – D – E – C on the order map. A copy of the order and the order map and an explanatory statement have been placed and may be seen free of charge at Yate One Stop Shop (next to the Leisure Centre), Kennedy Way, Yate BS37 4DQ during normal opening hours.

Any representation about or objection to the order may be sent or delivered in writing addressed to the Head of Legal and Democratic Services at the undermentioned address quoting reference L3/GMM/STOR/PT.8163 not later than 14 June 2025. 

Please state the grounds on which they are made. Please note that all representations received may be considered in public by the Council and that the substance of any representation together with the name and address of the person making it could become available for public inspection. 

If no such representations or objections are duly made, or if any so made are withdrawn, South Gloucestershire District Council may confirm the order as an unopposed order. 

If the order is sent to the Secretary of State for the Environment for confirmation any representations or objections which have not been withdrawn will be sent with the order.


(Various Roads, Catbrain Lane Area, Almondsbury)
(Prohibition of Waiting) (Variation No. 2) Order 2025

NOTICE is hereby given that on 7 May 2025 South Gloucestershire District Council made an order under sections 1(1), 2(1) to (3) and 4(2) of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended the effect of which is to: a) add lengths of no waiting at any time restrictions in Catbrain Lane and Medlar Close, Almondsbury; b) reduce lengths of no waiting Mon-Fri (inclusive) 2pm - 3pm in Catbrain Lane, Almondsbury; c) bring forward unchanged into the new order lengths of no waiting at any time restrictions in New Charlton Way, Charlton Leaze and Catbrain Hill, Almondsbury and lengths of no waiting Mon-Fri (inclusive) 2pm - 3pm in New Charlton Way, Almondsbury; and d) vary the South Gloucestershire Council (Various Roads, Catbrain Lane area, Almondsbury) (Prohibition of Waiting) Order 2020 in favour of the measures in item a) and item b) above. 

Exemptions in the order permit any vehicle to wait for the purpose of boarding or alighting; loading or unloading goods; Post Office services; maintenance of the road; supply of gas, water or electricity; the pursuance of statutory powers or duties; taking in petrol, oil, water or air from any garage; weddings or funerals and in accordance with the current provisions for vehicles which display a disabled person’s badge. 

The order will come into operation on 15 May 2025 and a copy thereof together with a map, copies of any orders to be varied/revoked and a copy of the Council’s Statement of Reasons for making the order, may be inspected at Patchway One Stop Shop, The Patchway Hub, Rodway Road, Patchway during normal opening hours.

Any person who desires to question the validity of, or of any provision contained in the order on the grounds that it is not within the relevant powers of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended, or on the grounds that any of the relevant requirements of that Act has not been complied with in relation to the order, may within six weeks after the date on which the order was made, apply to the High Court for this purpose.


(Public Footpath Eastland Avenue to Hawthorn Crescent, Thornbury) (Temporary Prohibition of Use by Foot Passengers) 2025

Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended have made an order the effect of which has closed, temporarily, to foot passengers the entire length of Public Footpath Eastland Avenue to Hawthorn Crescent. 

This order was required for the following reason: in connection with the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon gas main upgrade works. The order became operative from 19 May 2025 for a maximum period of six months. 

The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of 2 weeks duration.

Alternative route: Hawthorn Crescent, North Road, North East Road, Eastland Avenue and vice versa.


(Footpath and Cycle Path New Road, Stoke Gifford)
(Temporary Prohibition of Use by Pedal Cycles) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended have made an order the effect of which has closed, temporarily, to pedal cycles that length of Footpath and Cycle Path New Road which extends from Great Swanmoor Close north eastwards for 375m. 

This order was required for the following reason: in connection with the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon telecom installation works. The order became operative from 23 May 2025 for a maximum period of six months. 

The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of 2 weeks duration. No alternative route available: Pedestrian walkway provided.


(Swinhay Lane, Charfield) (No.2)
(Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended have made an order the effect of which has closed, temporarily, to vehicles that length of Swinhay Lane which extends from Huntingford Farm Lane southwards for 350m. 

This order was required for the following reason: in connection with overhead cabling works. The order became operative from 23 May 2025 for a maximum period of eighteen months. 

The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of a 1 day duration, between 9:30am and 3:30pm.

Alternative route: Swinhay Lane, Huntingdon Farm Lane and vice versa.


(Bristol Road, Iron Acton)
(Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles, Foot Passengers, Pedal Cycles and Equestrians) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended intends to make an order the effect of which will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles, foot passengers, pedal cycles and equestrians that length of Bristol Road which extends from Latteridge Road south westwards for 680m. 

This order is required for the following reason: in connection with the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon annual barrier maintenance works and adjustments to the equipment and barrier arm on or adjacent to the highway. 

The order will be operative from 10 June 2025 for a maximum period of eighteen months. 

The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of a 1 night duration, between 11pm and 5am.

Alternative route: Bristol Road (parts unaffected), Yate Road, Iron Acton Way, Goose Green Way, Link Way, Kennedy Way, Cotswold Way, Badminton Road, Bath Road, Wapley Road, Westerleigh Road, A4174, Bristol Road (parts unaffected) and vice versa.


(Latteridge Road, Iron Acton) 
(Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles, Foot Passengers, Pedal Cycles and Equestrians) Order 2025 

Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended intends to make an order the effect of which will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles, foot passengers, pedal cycles and equestrians that length of Latteridge Road which extends from its junction with Northmead Lane westwards for 180m. 

This order is required for the following reason: in connection with the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon minor barrier maintenance works and adjustments to equipment and barrier arms on or adjacent to the highway. 

The order will be operative from 11 June 2025 for a maximum period of eighteen months. 

The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of a 1 night duration, between 11pm and 5am. 

Alternative route: Latteridge Road (parts unaffected), Latteridge Hill, Church Road, Gloucester Road, Charfield Road, Wotton Road, Bristol Road, Bagstone Road, Wotton Road, Bristol Road and vice versa.


(Charfield Road, Tortworth) 
(Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles) Order 2025 

Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended intends to make an order the effect of which will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles that length of Charfield Road which extends from Tortworth Park generally eastwards for 450m. 

This order is required for the following reason: in connection with carriageway reconstruction and resurfacing works. 

The order will be operative from 12 June 2025 for a maximum period of eighteen months. 

The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of a 1 week duration, between 8pm and 6am. 

Alternative route: B4509 (part unaffected), A38, B4427, B4059, B4058, B4509 (part unaffected) and vice versa.


(Off Street Parking Places) Order 2025
NOTICE is hereby given that on 7 May 2025 South Gloucestershire District Council made an order under sections 32,33 and 35 of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended the effect of which is to: 

a) set the car parking charge for Abbey Wood, Church View, Filton; Laburnum Road, Hanham; Bank Road, Boultons Road, Cecil Road, Kings Chase Shopping Centre, South Road, Kingswood; St James Street, Mangotsfield; The Parade, Patchway; Byron Place, Haynes Lane, Page Road/Kendall Road, Page Road, Staple Hill; Parkway North Park and Ride, Stoke Gifford; Castle Court, Rock Street, St Mary Street, Thornbury; Warmley Station, Warmley; Flaxpits Lane, Winterbourne; Kennedy Way, Leisure Centre South West and Leisure Centre South East, Yate car parks as set out in the Schedule to this notice;

b) set the stay length and return times across South Gloucestershire Council car parks. Each car park is subject to a maximum time period for which a vehicle may stay in a parking place. 

These are set out in the Schedule to this notice; and c) revoke the South Gloucestershire Council (Off Street Parking Places) Order 2022 and the South Gloucestershire Council (Off Street Parking Places) (Kings Chase Shopping Centre Car Park) (Variation No. 1) Order 2023 in favour of the provisions specified in items a) and b) above N.B. In the event that an appeal is made against the decision of the Council to refuse to grant planning permission for the proposed development, and that appeal then proceeds by way of the expedited procedure under the written representations procedure, any representations made to the council about this application will be passed to the Secretary of State and there will be no opportunity to make further representations.
