Wokingham, Temporary Road Closures Due To Street Cleansing Works

What is happening?

BRACKNELL FOREST BOROUGH COUNCIL (OLD WOKINGHAM ROAD, PEACKCOCK LANE AND A3095 CROWTHORNE ROAD, WOKINGHAM) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) ORDER 2025

Notice is hereby given that Bracknell Forest Borough Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order, in accordance with Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle from travelling along:

a) Old Wokingham Road, Wokingham

b) Peacock Lane, Wokingham

c) A3095 Crowthorne Road, Wokingham

The alternative route for vehicles affected by this Order will be via:

a) Easthampstead Road, A329 London Road, William Heelas Way, Waterloo Road and this route reversed.

b) Waterloo Road, William Heelas Way, A329 London Road, A329 Berkshire Way, Vigar Way and this route reversed.

c) A3095 Mill Lane, A322 Downshire Way, A322 Bagshot Road, B3430 Nine Mile Ride and this route reversed.

The purpose of this Order is to ensure public & worker safety while the Highway Authority carry out street cleansing.

The proposed Order will come into operation on the 19th May 2025, and its maximum duration will be 6 months. However, it is currently planned that the road closures will remain in place from a) 09:30 until 15:30 on 20th May 2025 b) 09:30 until 15:30 on 21st May 2025 c) 09:30 until 15:30 on 19th May 2025.

This Order shall only apply when the appropriate signs and markings are displayed in the road.
