Holme Road, Shiptonthorpe - Traffic Regulation
What is happening?
THE EAST RIDING OF YORKSHIRE COUNCIL
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH
TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025 HOLME ROAD,
SHIPTONTHORPE AND SHIPTON LANE,
HOLME UPON SPALDING MOOR
East Riding of Yorkshire Council has made an Order
the effect of which is to prohibit any person from
causing any vehicle to proceed/from proceeding along
the entire length of Holme Road, Shiptonthorpe and
Shipton Lane, Holme Upon Spalding Moor commencing
26 May 2025 until 29 May 2025 between 20.00
hours until 06.00 hours (three overnight closures).
The reason for the closure is to enable the proposed
VRS installation works around the new weather
station (National Highways) along the entire length of
Holme Road, Shiptonthorpe and Shipton Lane, Holme
Upon Spalding Moor, to be carried out and completed
in a manner consistent with ensuring the safety of
the public. It is anticipated that the works will be
completed within three days.
The alternative route for traffic affected by the Order is
via A1079 York Road, A1079 Giant Bradley Way and
Holme Road.
The road will be closed to all through traffic but access
will be maintained for residents, emergency vehicles and
pedestrians. The Order will commence 26 May 2025
and continue in force for a period not exceeding
eighteen months or until the works which it is
proposed to carry out have been completed, whichever
is the earlier. Further information can be obtained from
