Suffolk - Multiple Temporary Road Closures due to Utility and Safety Works
What is happening?
SUFFOLK COUNTY COUNCIL ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984: SECTION 14
TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE U8001 NORTH HILL, RUSHBROOKE
Suffolk County Council has made an order closing the U8001 North Hill, Rushbrooke from the junction with Sicklesmere Road for 20 metres eastbound to facilitate the installation of a telecommunications chamber. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.
Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.
The diversion route will be Rushbrooke Lane, Rougham Road, Sicklesmere Road and vice versa.
It is intended that the closure will operate from 13/05/2025 - 15/05/2025 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE U2505 SANDY LANE, RENDHAM
Suffolk County Council has made an order closing the U2505 Sandy Lane, Rendham from the junction with Chapel Road to the junction with Green Lane to facilitate the installation of a water supply. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.
Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.
The diversion route will be Chapel Road, the B1119 and vice versa.
It is intended that the closure will operate from 13/05/2025 - 20/05/2025 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE C747 BULMER ROAD AND THE C136 KITCHEN HILL, SUDBURY AND BULMER
Suffolk County Council has made an order closing the following roads in the following phases:
1. • the C747 Bulmer Road, Sudbury from Sandy Lane to Kitchen Hill
• the C136 Kitchen Hill, Bulmer
2. • the C747 Bulmer Road, Sudbury
• the C136 Kitchen Hill, Bulmer.
This is to facilitate drainage improvements. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.
Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.
The diversion route will be the A131, Church Road, Sudbury Road and vice versa.
It is intended that these closures will operate from:
1. 13/05/2025 - 14/05/2025 from 9am - 4pm
2. 14/05/2025 from 9.30am - 1.30pm.
If necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE C679 KILN LANE AND BLACKSMITH ROAD, REDE
Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the following roads in the following phases:
• the C679 Kiln Lane, Rede from the junction with Church Close for 1003 metres north westbound
• the C679 Kiln Lane, Rede.
This is to facilitate telecommunication infrastructure works. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.
Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.
The diversion route will be Whepstead Road, Rede Road, Old School Road, Chedburgh Road, the A143 and vice versa.
It is intended that the closures will operate in the following phases:
1. 22/05/2025 - 08/06/2025
2. 11/06/2025 - 15/06/2025.
If necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE C457 CHURCH LANE, BARHAM
Suffolk County Council has made an order closing the C457 Church Lane, Barham from Barham Hall for 150 metres westbound to facilitate works to an overhead structure. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.
Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.
The diversion routes will be:
1. (Diversion for normal traffic) Church Lane, Norwich Road, Sandy Lane, Barham, Sandy Hill, Sandy Lane, Coddenham, the B1078, Main Road, Bells Cross Road, The Green and vice versa
2. (Diversion 1 for HGV due to 1 way weight restriction in Coddenham) Church Lane, Norwich Road, Sandy Lane, Barham, Sandy Hill, Sandy Lane, Coddenham, the B1078, Main Road, Bells Cross Road, The Green and no vice versa
3. (Diversion 2 for HGV due to 1 way weight restriction in Coddenham) The Green, Bells Cross Road, Main Road, the B1078, Rectory Road, Sandy Hill, Sandy Lane, Norwich Road, Church Lane and no vice versa.
It is intended that the closure will operate on 13/05/2025 from 9.30am - 2pm but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE U4530 WASH LANE, ONEHOUSE
Suffolk County Council has made an order closing the U4530 Wash Lane, Onehouse from the junction with Finborough Road for 40 metres southbound to facilitate a new electrical supply. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.
Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.
The diversion route will be the B1115 Finborough Road, Combs Lane and vice versa.
It is intended that the closure will operate from 13/05/2025 - 16/05/2025 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE U8511 HADLEIGH HEATH, POLSTEAD
Suffolk County Council has made an order closing the U8511 Hadleigh Heath, Polstead from Coram Street to Potts Lane to facilitate drainage improvement works. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.
Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.
The diversion route will be Hadleigh Heath, Stackwood Road, Straight Road, Watsons Corner, the A1071 and vice versa.
It is intended that the closure will operate from 13/05/2025 - 14/05/2025 from 9am - 4pm but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE U7016 MIDDLE GREEN, HIGHAM, FOREST HEATH
Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the U7016 Middle Green, Higham, Forest Heath from Lodge Farm for 75 metres northbound to facilitate a pole replacement.
Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.
Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.
The diversion route will be Lower Green, Gazeley Road, Higham Road, the road from the C658, Upper Green, the road from the 7017 to the District Boundary and vice versa.
It is intended that the closure will operate from 22/05/2025 - 23/05/2025 from 9am - 5pm. If necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

SUFFOLK COUNTY COUNCIL
(PARISH OF CREETING ST MARY) (FOOTPATH 5) (TEMPORARY CLOSURE) ORDER 2024
This order, which came into effect on 20/12/2024 closing Footpath 5, Creeting St Mary at the boardwalk has been extended in force by the Minister until 20/12/2025 or until completion of the works, whichever is the earlier.
This closure is required for safety reasons due to an unsafe boardwalk. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period. If the order had not been extended it would have ceased to be in force on 28/05/2025.
