Keswick and Intwood – Speed Limit and Lane Restriction Orders
What is happening?
THE NORFOLK COUNTY COUNCIL
(KESWICK AND INTWOOD, A140 IPSWICH ROAD) (HARFORD PARK & RIDE)
(BUS, TAXI AND CYCLE LANE) AND (40 MPH SPEED LIMIT) ORDERS 2025
The Norfolk County Council propose to make the following Orders under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984:
The Norfolk County Council (Keswick and Intwood, A140 Ipswich Road and U71576 Ipswich Road Service Road) (40 mph Speed Limit) Order 2025
The effect of this Order will be to prohibit any motor vehicle from exceeding 40 miles per hour along the lengths of road specified in Schedule 1 below. This is a reduction to the current National Speed Limit.
The Norfolk County Council (Keswick and Intwood, A140 Ipswich Road)
(Harford Park & Ride) (Bus, Taxi and Cycle Lane) Order 2025
The effect of this Order will be to prohibit any vehicle except a bus, taxi or cycle from entering, waiting or proceeding in the kerbside north with-flow lane for 3 periods with a northerly direction as set specified in Schedule 2 below. The use of the order exemptions, bus, taxi and cycle shall be 24 hours Monday to Sunday.

Copies are also available for inspection at Norfolk County Council, County Hall, Norwich, NR1 2DH and at the offices of South Norfolk District Council, The Horizon Centre, Peachman Way, Broadland Business Park, Norwich, NR7 0WF during normal office hours. Online viewing is recommended.
Any objections and representations relating to the Order must be made in writing and must specify the grounds on which they are made. All correspondence for these proposals must be received at the office of nplaw, Norfolk County Council, County Hall, Martineau Lane, Norwich, NR1 2DH, marked for the attention of the nplaw Traffic Regulation Order Team by the 3rd June 2025. Proposed 40 mph Speed Limit
A140 Ipswich Road | From the northern arm at the Harford/Southern Bypass Roundabout, at its junction with the A47 northwards to a point 105 metres north of its junction with the C802/2 Hall Road, a distance of 1400 metres. |
U71576 Ipswich Road Service Road | From its junction with the A140 Ipswich Road for 40 metres south-eastwards. |
Schedule 2 – In the Parish of Keswick and Intwood
Proposed Bus, Cycle and Taxi Only Lane – 24 Hour
A140 Ipswich Road (northbound lane only) | From its junction with the U99940 Harford Park & Ride northwards to a point 110 metres south of its junction with the U71576 Ipswich Road Service Road, a distance of 530 metres. |
