Piercebridge, Temporary Road Closure Due To Bridge Testing Work

What is happening?

DARLINGTON BOROUGH COUNCIL ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 (TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE) ORDER 2025 B6275 THE GREEN, PIERCEBRIDGE

Darlington Borough Council intend, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make an Order under the provisions of Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be to close:

THE GREEN

From the south side of Bridge End junction southwards and eastwards to the western boundary of Glen Cottage

An alternative route will be signed via B6275, A67, Bridge Road, Stapleton Bank, Silver Street Barton, B6275 and vice versa.

The Order is necessary to allow works to carry out intrusive testing of the bridge.

The maximum duration of the temporary closure under this Order is 18 months commencing from 9th June 2025, it is anticipated that it will be effective for 4 weeks.
