What is happening?

North Yorkshire Council,

Temporary Prohibition of Traffic, Lynbrook Close, Thirsk, Order 2025, No. 146

We have made this Order to prohibit any vehicle from using Lynbrook Close, Thirsk for a temporary period (subject to access to premises) between 12/05/25 & 23/05/25, due to Northern Powergrid works. However, the max duration of this Order is until 31/05/25 in case of any unforeseen delays. The closure period will be indicated by traffic signs & a local alternative route will be signed on site where appropriate. Temporary Prohibition of Traffic, Strawgate Lane, Stapleton, Order 2025, No. 147

We have made this Order to prohibit any vehicle from using Strawgate Lane, Stapleton for a temporary period (subject to access to premises) between 13/05/25 & 19/05/25, due to Northern Powergrid works to provide a new electric connection. However, the max duration of this Order is until 13/08/25. The closure period will be indicated by traffic signs & a local alternative route will be signed on site where appropriate. Temporary Prohibition of Traffic, Tofts Lane, Helperby, Order 2025, No. 166

We intend to make this Order to prohibit any vehicle from using Tofts Lane, Helperby for a temporary period (subject to access to premises) between 26/05/25 & 06/06/25, due to Section 50 works to install a new main. However, the max duration of this Order is until 27/07/25. The closure period will be indicated by traffic signs & a local alternative route will be signed on site where appropriate. 30 Mph & 40 Mph Speed Limits, Various Roads, Borrowby & Knayton, Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that The North Yorkshire Council proposes to make an Order under Sections 84(1) & (2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 & Part IV of Schedule 9 to the 1984 Act, the effect of which will be to prohibit any motor vehicle from travelling at a speed in excess of 30 mph on any length of road specified in table 1 below & from travelling at a speed in excess of 40 mph on any length of road specified in table 2 below:

Table 1 - 30 Mph Speed Limit

U1832 (Road through Borrowby Village), from its junction with Oaktree Bank for a distance of 25.6 metres measured along the centre line of the U1832 in a north westerly direction.

Oaktree Bank, from a point measured 78.5 metres in a north easterly direction of the junction of the U1832 & Oaktree Bank, to a point measured 75 metres in a north easterly direction from the centre line of the junction of Allerton Wath Road & Oaktree Bank.

Table 2 - 40 Mph Speed Limit

Oaktree Bank, from a point measured 75 metres in a north easterly direction from the centre line of the junction of Allerton Wath Road & Oaktree Bank for a distance of 252 metres in a south westerly direction.

A copy of the draft Order, together with a map showing the roads affected & a statement of the Council’s reasons for proposing to make the Order may be inspected at County Hall, Northallerton & at Northallerton Library, 1 Thirsk Road, Northallerton, DL6 1TP during normal office hours from 09/05/25 until 30/05/25 & also viewed online at www.northyorks.gov.uk/roadworks-map or www.northyorks.gov.uk/traffic-regulation-orders
