ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14(1)

LONDON BOROUGH OF MERTON (WILLOW LANE TRADING ESTATE)

(TEMPORARY RESTRICTION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025

  1. The London Borough of Merton Council hereby give notice that to facilitate street cleaning and line marking works to be undertaken in the roads or lengths of road specified in column 1 of the Schedule to this notice, they intend to make an Order, the effect of which, during the works, would be to temporarily restrict parking in the said roads or lengths of road.

  2. During the works, no person would cause or permit any vehicle to wait, including for the purpose of loading or unloading any vehicle, in the roads or lengths of road specified in column 1 of the Schedule to this notice.

  3. Any designated parking place situated in any of the roads or lengths of road specified in column 1 of the Schedule to this notice would be suspended for the duration of the works in those roads or lengths of road.

  4. The restrictions would only apply during such times and to such extent as would from time to time be indicated by traffic signs prescribed by the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016.

  5. Any vehicle that is in contravention of any waiting restrictions imposed by the Order may be removed under the provisions of the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986.

  6. Nothing in the Order would apply to: –

    a) any vehicle being used in connection with the execution of the said works; or

    b) anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police officer in uniform.

(c) any vehicle being used for police, fire brigade or ambulance purposes, subject to site conditions.

7. The Order would come into force on Sunday 18th May 2025 and the works are anticipated to be carried out on the dates specified in column 2 of the Schedule to this notice. However, the Order would remain in operation for a maximum period of 18 months and its provisions would be re-introduced should further works be required.

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14(1) (as amended)

LONDON BOROUGH OF MERTON (VARIOUS ROADS) (CYCLE HIRE PARKING PLACE MARKING) (B7) (TEMPORARY RESTRICTION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025

  1. The Council of the London Borough of Merton hereby give notice that to enable carriageway marking works they intend to make an Order to restrict parking in certain lengths of the roads specified in the Schedule to this Notice, subject to the results of consultation.

    1. During the works no person shall cause or permit any unauthorised vehicle to wait, load or unload in certain lengths of the roads specified in the Schedule to this Notice. Existing marked parking places in certain lengths of the said roads would be suspended.

    Note: The works are expected to commence on 16 May 2025 and be carried out on a rolling basis. Warning signs would be posted on the roads before the works are expected to take place and cones would be put in place the day before. The works would be expected to take 1 day on each road, but may take longer if there are any unforeseen circumstances or poor weather conditions.

    1. The restrictions would only apply during such times and to such an extent as indicated by the placing of prescribed signs.

    2. Nothing in the Order would apply to: –

      (a) anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform; or

      (b) any person or vehicle engaged in the execution of the said works; or

      (c) any vehicle being used for police, fire brigade or ambulance purposes.

    3. The Order would come into operation on 16 May 2025 and would remain in force for a maximum period of 12 months, or until the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner.

    4. Any vehicle waiting in contravention of any restriction imposed by the Order may be removed under the provisions of the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986.
