Barnet, Multiple Roads, Formalisation Of 20mph Speed Limit
What is happening?
LONDON BOROUGH OF BARNET
THE BARNET (20MPH SPEED LIMIT) (NO. *) TRAFFIC ORDER 20**
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the London Borough of Barnet propose to make the above-mentioned Order under Section 6 and 84 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and all other enabling powers. In order to address concerns about speeding, and to improve general road safety, the general effect of the Order would be to formalise the introduction of a maximum speed limit of 20mph on Gresham Avenue N20 for its entire length.
This measure is in conjunction with a 20mph speed limit scheme under a previous notice advertised on 21st March 2024, that included the following roads listed below: Manor Drive N20, St James Avenue N20, Friars Avenue N20, Queens Well Avenue N20, St James Close N20, Raleigh Drive N20, Church Way N20, Church Close N20, Church Crescent N20 and York Way N20.
A copy of the proposed Order, associated plan of the relevant areas and the Council's Statement of Reasons for proposing to make the Order can be obtained, inclusive for a period of 21 days from the date on which this notice is published, by emailing parking. consultations@barnet.gov.uk or by writing to the Design Team, Highways Section, 2 Bristol Avenue, Colindale, London NW9 4EW. Further information on the proposals may be obtained by telephoning the Design Team on 020 8359 3555.
Any person wishing to object to or comment on the proposed Order should send a written statement explaining their objection/ comments, and quoting reference number SCR564a to the Design Team, London Borough of Barnet, 2 Bristol Avenue, Colindale NW9 4EW, or via email to Highwayscorrespondence@Barnet.gov.uk within 21 days of the date of this Notice.
