Croydon, Multiple Roads, Temporary Closures Due To Various Works

What is happening?

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT, 1984, SECTION 14 AS AMENDED

THE ROAD TRAFFIC (TEMPORARY RESTRICTIONS) ACT 1991 AND ALL OTHER ENABLING POWERS

BROUGHTON ROAD, THORNTON HEATH TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF VEHICULAR TRAFFIC & PARKING

  1. Croydon Council HEREBY GIVES NOTICE that to facilitate water service pipe repair works by Thames Water, they intend to make an Order the effect of which would be to temporarily prohibit traffic movements and parking in Broughton Road, Thornton Heath.

  2. During the works:

    a) Broughton Road will be closed between its junction with London Road and the south-western (rear) boundary of No. 657 London Road.

    Parking on both sides of the above section of Broughton Road will be suspended and waiting and loading restrictions will apply "at any time".

  3. Whilst the closure remains in force the alternative route for traffic will be via Broughton Road, London Road, Thornton Road, Broughton Road and reversed.

  4. The Order will come into operation on 27 May 2025, and it is anticipated that the work will be completed on 30 May 2025. However, the Order will remain in force for 18 months to be reintroduced should further work be required. The prohibition will only apply during such times and to such extent as shall from time to time be indicated by traffic signs.

  5. The restrictions shall not apply in respect of:

    (a) any vehicle involved in conducting the said work.

    (b) a vehicle being used for fire brigade, ambulance, or police purposes, or the purposes of a statutory undertaker in an emergency, such as the loss of supplies of gas, electricity or water to premises in the area, which necessitates the bringing of vehicles into a section of road to which the order applies.

    (c) anything done with the permission of a police constable in uniform or a Civil Enforcement Officer.

Chatsworth Road, Croydon - Temporary Restriction of Traffic

CROYDON COUNCIL

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT, 1984, SECTION 14

AS AMENDED AND THE ROAD TRAFFIC (TEMPORARY RESTRICTIONS) ACT 1991

CHATSWORTH ROAD, CROYDON TEMPORARY RESTRICTION OF TRAFFIC

  1. Croydon Council HEREBY GIVES NOTICE that to facilitate new gas connection works by SGN, they intend to make an Order the effect of which would be to temporarily restrict traffic in Chatsworth Road, Croydon.

  2. Whilst the said works are taking place Chatsworth Road will be closed between its junction with Coombe Road and the northern boundary of No. 55 Coombe Road.

  3. Whilst the closure is in force, the alternative routes for traffic will be as detailed below:

    • Via Coombe Road, Park Lane, Mulgrave Road and vice versa.

    • Via Coombe Road, Park Hill Road, Barclay Road and Chatsworth Road.

  4. The Order will come into operation on 27 May 2025, and it is anticipated that the works will be completed on 01 June 2025. However, the Order will remain in force for 18 months to be reintroduced should further works be required.

  5. These restrictions shall not apply in respect of:

    (a) any vehicle involved in carrying out the said works.

    (b) any vehicle being used for fire brigade, ambulance, or police purposes.

Church Road, Upper Norwood - Temporary Prohibition of Vehicular Traffic

THE ROAD TRAFFIC (TEMPORARY RESTRICTIONS) ACT 1991 AND ALL OTHER ENABLING POWERS

CHURCH ROAD, UPPER NORWOOD TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF VEHICULAR TRAFFIC

  1. Croydon Council HEREBY GIVES NOTICE that to facilitate a district meter exchange on behalf of Thames Water, they intend to make an Order the effect of which would be to temporarily prohibit traffic movements in Church Road, Upper Norwood.

  2. During the work Church Road will be closed between its junctions with Anerley Hill and Milestone Road.

  3. Whilst the closure remains in force the alternative routes for diverted traffic will be as detailed below:

    Main Diversion Route

    Via Anerley Hill, Anerley Road, Croydon Road, Penge Road, High Street South Norwood, Norwood Hill, and Church Road.

    Diversion Route For Milestone Road

    Via Anerley Hill, Hamlet Road, Belvedere Road, Cintra Park, Patterson Road, and Milestone Road.

    Diversion Route For Belvedere Road

    Via Anerley Hill, Hamlet Road, Belvedere Road, Tudor Road, and Lansdowne Place.

  4. The Order will come into operation on 26 May 2025, and it is anticipated that the work will be completed on 30 May 2025. However, the Order will remain in force for 18 months to be reintroduced should further work be required. The prohibition will only apply during such times and to such extent as shall from time to time be indicated by traffic signs.

  5. The restrictions shall not apply in respect of:

Clifton Road and Ladbrook Road, South Norwood – Temporary Prohibition of Vehicular Traffic

THE ROAD TRAFFIC (TEMPORARY RESTRICTIONS) ACT 1991 AND ALL OTHER ENABLING POWERS

CLIFTON ROAD AND LADBROOK ROAD, SOUTH NORWOOD TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF VEHICULAR TRAFFIC

  1. Croydon Council HEREBY GIVES NOTICE that to facilitate works to a water valve by Thames Water, they intend to make an Order the effect of which would be to temporarily prohibit traffic movements in Clifton Road and Ladbrook Road, South Norwood.

  2. During the work:

    a) Clifton Road will be closed at its junction with Whitehorse Lane.

    b) The cycle lane on Ladbrook Road will be closed between its junction with Whitehorse Lane and a point 25 metres north-west of that junction.

  3. Whilst the closure remains in force the alternative route for traffic will be via Clifton Road, Rothesay Road, Farnley Road and reversed, or via Park Road, Bungalow Road and Clifton Road. Cyclists affected by the cycle lane closure will be diverted via Ladbrook Road, Ross Road, Grange Road and Whitehorse Lane.

  4. The Order will come into operation on 27 May 2025, and it is anticipated that the work will be completed on 29 May 2025. However, the Order will remain in force for 18 months to be reintroduced should further work be required. The prohibition will only apply during such times and to such extent as shall from time to time be indicated by traffic signs.

Priddy’s Yard, Croydon – Temporary Prohibition of Pedestrian and Vehicular Traffic

CROYDON COUNCIL

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT, 1984, SECTION 14 AS AMENDED

THE ROAD TRAFFIC (TEMPORARY RESTRICTIONS) ACT 1991 AND ALL OTHER ENABLING POWERS

PRIDDY’S YARD, CROYDON TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF PEDESTRIAN AND VEHICULAR TRAFFIC

  1. Croydon Council HEREBY GIVES NOTICE that to facilitate telecommunications work, they intend to make an Order the effect of which would be to temporarily prohibit pedestrian and vehicular traffic movements in Priddy’s Yard, Croydon.

  2. Whilst the said works are taking place, the footways and carriageway in Priddy’s Yard will be closed between a point 50 metres north-west of its junction with Church Street and a point 28.5 metres north-east of its junction with Frith Road.

  3. Pedestrians affected by the footway closures will be guided through the closure area by marshals.

  4. The Order will come into operation on 23 May 2025, and it is anticipated that the work will be carried out over two separate dates, 23 May and 06 June 2025. However, the Order will remain in force for 18 months should further work be required. The prohibitions will only apply during such times and to such extent as shall from time to time be indicated by traffic signs.

  5. These restrictions shall not apply in respect of:

    (a) a vehicle involved in the said works.

    (b) a vehicle being used for fire brigade, ambulance, or police purposes, or the purposes of a statutory undertaker in an emergency, such as the loss of supplies of gas, electricity or water to premises in the area, which necessitates the bringing of vehicles into a section of road to which the order applies.
