Normoss Road - Temporary Prohibition Of Through Traffic
What is happening?
LANCASHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
(DOBSON ROAD, STAINING ROAD, NORMOSS ROAD, CONWAY, POULTON LE FYLDE, WYRE BOROUGH)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Lancashire County Council has made an Order under Section 14(1) (a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit traffic on the roads set out in this notice.
1. No person shall cause any motor vehicle to proceed over that length of
i. Dobson Road from its junction with Normoss Road to outside number 8 Dobson Road
ii. Staining Road from its junction with Normoss Road to out 10 Staining Road
iii. Normoss Road from its junction with Newton Drive East to outside 187 Normoss Road
iv. Conway from its junction with Normoss Road to outside number 2 Conway.
2. Nothing in this order shall apply to persons engaged in the carrying out of the works.
3. The prohibition will be operative
i. Dobson Road from 0800 hours on Monday 19th May 2025 until 1700 hours on Monday 2nd June 2025.
ii. Staining Road from 0800 hours on Monday 19th May 2025 until 1700 hours on Monday 2nd June 2025.
iii. Normoss Road from 0800 hours on Monday 2nd June 2025 until 1700 hours on Friday 13th June 2025.
iv. Conway from 0800 hours on Monday 2nd June 2025 until 1700 hours on Friday 13th June 2025.
or until completion of the works within this period.
4. Vehicular access for residents will be maintained whenever and wherever possible. Emergency services will have to use the diversion. Pedestrian access to properties will always be maintained.
5. An alternative route for vehicular traffic affected by the closure is via:-
i. Dobson Road
Ravenswood avenue – Conway and vice versa.
ii. Staining Road
Chain Lane – Mythop Road – Preston New Road – South Park Drive – East Park Drive – North Park Drive – Newton Drive – Newton Drive East and vice versa
iii. Normoss Road
Whitemoss Avenue – Westfield Avenue – Staining Road and vice versa
iv. Conway
Ravenswood Avenue – Fairfield Avenue – Newton Drive East and vice versa
The temporary prohibition is necessary to allow gas mains replacement works to be carried out.
