What is happening?

DARLINGTON BOROUGH COUNCIL

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984

(TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE) ORDER 2025

CLARKS YARD AND BUCKTONS YARD, DARLINGTON

Darlington Borough Council intend, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make an Order under the provisions of Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be to close:

CLARKS YARD

From the eastern boundary of 6 Clarks Yard westwards for approximately 55metres

BUCKTONS YARD

From the eastern boundary of 3 Bucktons Yard westwards for approximately 40metres

Pedestrian access will be maintained.

The Order is necessary to allow works by Northern Powergrid to install a new power cables.

The maximum duration of the temporary closure under this Order is 18 months commencing from 19th May 2025, it is anticipated that the closure will be effective for 3 weeks.
