Little Gringley, Retford And York Street - Temporary Prohibition of Driving For Roadmaster Resurfacing Works
What is happening?
THE NOTTINGHAMSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
(LITTLE GRINGLEY, RETFORD AND YORK STREET, EAST MARKHAM)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) ORDER 2025 (BS25-126)
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Nottinghamshire County Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order, under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, in respect of roads at Retford and East Markham in the District of Bassetlaw.
The effects of the Order will be:
1. Vehicles are prohibited from proceeding in the following length of road
a. Little Gringley, Retford - From its junction with Little Gringley Lane to its junction with Bracken Lane
b. York Street, East Markham - From its junction with Great Lane to its junction with York Paddock
2. Vehicles are prohibited from Waiting, Loading and Unloading (both sides) (at all times) in the following length of road
a. Little Gringley, Retford - From its junction with Little Gringley Lane to its junction with Bracken Lane
b. York Street, East Markham - From its junction with Great Lane to its junction with York Paddock
3. All existing permanent restrictions will be temporarily suspended as required.
4. The restrictions specified above shall only be in effect when the signs are in place.
IT IS INTENDED that the prohibitions respecting the above road or roads will apply as follows: From 08:00 hours until 15:30 hours only From Tuesday 13th May until Tuesday 27th May 2025 inclusive.
AND NOTICE IS HEREBY FURTHER GIVEN that during the period of restriction the alternative route available will be:
a. Little Gringley, Retford - Grove Lane - Grove Street - Arlington Way - Spital Hill - Leverton Road and vice versa
b. York Street, East Markham - Farm Lane - High Street and vice versa.
The Order will come into force on Tuesday 13th May 2025 and any prohibition in it shall apply on that day and any subsequent day when necessary to enable works to be carried out.
The Order shall continue in force until the works are completed (within a maximum period of 18 months).
The prohibition is required to enable Via East Midlands on behalf of Nottinghamshire County Council to carry out works Roadmaster resurfacing works;
