Dorset - Multiple Temporary Road Closures due to Works

What is happening?

Temporary Closure of Benville Lane, Corscombe

DORSET COUNCIL intend, not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All vehicles will be prohibited from proceeding along BENVILLE LANE, CORSCOMBE, between either side of Benville bridge, a distance of approximately 15 metres. The Order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users.

It will come into operation on 26 May 2025 and will remain in force for 18 months, however, it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 13 June 2025.

This Order will enable Dorset Council to carry out protection works to the bridge.

A locally signed diversion route will be put in place to enable traffic to travel around the closed sections. Any person who uses or permits the use of a vehicle in contravention of the Notice will be liable on summary conviction to a fine not exceeding £1000.

Temporary Closure of Church Hill, South Perrott

DORSET COUNCIL has made an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All vehicles will be prohibited from proceeding along CHURCH HILL, SOUTH PERROTT between its junction with A356 and Hill Cottage, a distance of approximately 55 metres. The Order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users.

It will come into operation on 12 May 2025 and will remain in force for 18 months, however it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 23 May 2025.

This Order will enable Wessex Internet, and its agents to carry out fibre cable installation. There will be no vehicular access for the duration of the closure. A locally signed diversion route will be in place to enable traffic to travel around the closed sections. There will be no specified alternative route for diverted traffic.
