What is happening?
ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 SECTION 23 ESTABLISHMENT OF SIGNALLED CONTROLLED PEDESTRIAN CROSSING FACILITIES AT BLACK BOY ROAD AND FRONT STREET, HOUGHTON-LE-SPRING, SUNDERLAND
Notice is given by the Council of the City of Sunderland that it intends to carry out works to install new signalled controlled pedestrian crossing facilities along the north-east and south-west carriageways of Black Boy Road and along the north and south carriageways of Front Street, Houghton-le-Spring, Sunderland, as described in the Schedule below. The Council has consulted the Chief Officer of Police and given public notice of its proposals in accordance with Section 23(2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. A copy of the plan showing the locations of the intended signalled controlled pedestrian crossing facilities and statement of reasons may be inspected during normal opening hours at the City Hall, Plater Way, Sunderland, until 2nd June 2025. SCHEDULE 1. Black Boy Road, Houghton-le-Spring the crossing is to be centred 15.0 metres east of the extended eastern property boundary of Haining Croft. 2. Front Street, Houghton-Le-Spring the crossing is to be centred 40.0 metres south of the extended north-west property boundary of St Andrew’s Church. 3. Front Street, Houghton-Le-Spring the crossing is to be centred 73.0 metres south of the extended north-west property boundary of St Andrew’s Church.
