What is happening?

EAST SUSSEX COUNTY COUNCIL

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 The East Sussex (C212 Observatory Road, Brightling) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out works, East Sussex

County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1) (b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Observatory Road – from the junction with C603 Sheepshaw Lane to the junction with C18 Deer Park Road.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via C18 Deer Park Road – C603 Sheepshaw Lane and vice versa.

The Order commences 15 May 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken from 09:00hrs to 16:00hrs on 15 May 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (U3056 Blackman Avenue, St Leonards-on-Sea) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

To allow Openreach to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Blackman Avenue – from the junction with U3056 Ford Road to the junction with U3045 Blackman Avenue.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via U3056 Ford Road – U3045 Blackman Avenue and vice versa.

The Order commences 11 May 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 11 and 16 May 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (U6626 Hurst Lane, Sedlescombe) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

To allow Openreach to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Hurst Lane – from the junction with C21 Brede Lane to the junction with P6758 Churchland Lane.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via C21 Brede Lane – B2244 The Street, Sandrock Hill – U6626 Hurst Lane and vice versa.

The Order commences 14 May 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken from 09:00hrs to 15:30hrs on 14 and 15 May 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (U6971 Eight Acre Lane, Guestling) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

To allow UKPN to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Eight Acre Lane – from the junction with C22 Butchers Lane to the junction with C638 Rock Lane.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via C22 Butchers Lane – A259(T) Rye Road, Winchelsea Road, White Hart Hill, Winchelsea Road – A259 Rye Road – U3246 Red Lake Terrace – C638 Rock Lane and vice versa.

The Order commences 12 May 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 12 May 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (U6106 Sluice Road/Herbrand Walk, Normans Bay/Bexhill) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024

To allow Centurion Site Services to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1) (b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Sluice Road/Herbrand Walk – 15 metres either side of the level crossing.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via U6106 Sluice Road, Sluice Lane – A27(T) Pevensey Haven roundabout – A259(T) Marsh Road, Barnhorn Road, Little Common roundabout – B2182 Cooden Sea Road – U6106 Herbrand Walk and vice versa.

The Order commenced 15 December 2024 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. The East Sussex (U3206 George Street, Hastings) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

To allow The Blackford Group to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

George Street – from the junction with U3206 Albion Lane to the junction with A259 Sturdee Place.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via A259 Sturdee Place, Marine Parade, East Parade – U3208 High Street – U3206 George Street and vice versa.

The Order commences 12 May 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 12 and 17 May 2025 depending upon the weather conditions. A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic eastbound via A259 Verulam Place, Eversfield Place, Grand Parade – A2102 London Road – A21 London Road, Sedlescombe Road North – A2101 St Helens Road, Park Gates roundabout, Queens Road, Albert Road – A259 Denmark Place, Carlisle Parade and westbound via A259 Carlisle Parade, Denmark Place – A2101 Albert Road, Queens Road, Park Gates roundabout, St Helens Road – A21 Sedlescombe Road North, London Road – A2102 London Road, Norman Road, Warrior Square – A259 Grand Parade, Eversfield Place, Verulam Place. The Order commences 14 May 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken from 19:00hrs to 06:00hrs between 14 and 17 May 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (U6186 Bramble Way, Fairlight) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

To allow Trooli to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Bramble Way – at its junction with U6638 Shepherds Way. A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible. The Order commences 26 May 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 26 and 28 May 2025 depending upon the weather conditions. The East Sussex (U6569 De La Warr Road, Bexhill) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

To allow SGN to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

De La Warr Road – from the junction with U6571 Manor Road to the junction with A259(T) King Offa Way.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic westbound via A259(T) King Offa Way – A269 London Road, Town Hall Square, Buckhurst Road – B2182 Upper Sea Road – U6569 De La Warr Road and eastbound via A269 Dorset Road, Magdalen Road, Upper Sea Road – B2182 Upper Sea Road – U6569 De La Warr Road.

The Order commences 27 May 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 27 and 30 May 2025 depending upon the weather conditions. Temporary Road Closure

Queens Road – from the junction with U3188 Elford Street to the junction with U3188 Stonefield Place.

However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 24 May and 2 June 2025 depending upon the weather conditions. To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following lengths of road;

Diversion via C21 Brede Lane – B2244 The Street, Sandrock Hill, Hawkhurst Road, Compasses – B2165 Cripps Corner Road – B2089 Catts Green, Whorne Woods, Tank Hill, Chitcombe Road – A28 Cackle Street – C21 Pottery Lane, Brede Lane and vice versa.

Hurst Lane – from the junction with C21 Brede Lane to the junction with P6758 Churchland Lane.

Diversion via C21 Brede Lane – B2244 The Street, Sandrock Hill – U6626 Hurst Lane and vice versa.
