Formartine, Aberdeen Area - Speed Limt orders
What is happening?
ABERDEENSHIRE COUNCIL
FORMARTINE SPEED LIMITS
Aberdeenshire Council proposes to make the following orders under the Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984.
“The Aberdeenshire Council (Formartine) (Speed Limits Revocation) Order 2025” “The Aberdeenshire Council (Formartine) (Speed Limits) Order 2025”
The effect of the first order will be to revoke in full or in part current individual traffic orders covering speed limit restrictions in the Formartine Area.
The effect of the second order will be to bring into force 20mph, 30mph, 40mph and 50mph speed limits within a single Formartine order. The proposed 40mph and 50mph limits are identical to those already in place in current individual traffic orders. A number of roads which presently are restricted to 30mph in areas of Formartine are now proposed to be reduced
to 20mph in line with Aberdeenshire Councils Speed Limits Policy and the National Strategy.
Full details of the proposals are in the draft orders and plans which, together with a statement of the Council’s reasons for proposing to make the orders, may be examined online via www.aberdeenshire.gov.uk/roadsand-travel/roads/traffic-management/traffic-measures/ or during normal office hours at Woodhill House, Westburn Road, Aberdeen, AB16 5GB.
