OXFORDSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL

(HOOK NORTON PARISH) (SPEED LIMITS) ORDER 2025

NOTICE is given that on 6 May 2025 Oxfordshire County Council made the above order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The order, which comes into force on 12 May introduces a 20mph speed limit in Hook Norton, replacing the majority of the 30mph speed limit in the process, leading out to the following points:

1. Bury Croft Road/Crofts Lane – a point 174 metres southwest of Southrop Road,

2. Chipping Norton Road – a point 166 metres southwest of Brookside,

3. Clay Bank – a point 23 metres north of its junction with The Bourne,

4. Ironstone Hollow – its junction with Station Road,

5. Sibford Road – a point 25 metres northwest of Bourne Lane,

6. Station Road – a point 15 metres northeast of Austins Way,

7. Swerford Road – a point 75 metres south of Ashburton Lane,

8. The Grange – its junction with Station Road.

A length of 30mph speed limit is retained on Station Road, leading north-eastwards out of the village.

The Oxfordshire County Council (Hook Norton Parish) (Speed Limit) Order 2003 is revoked/replaced.

Notice of Temporary Traffic Order

Chipping Norton, Walterbush Road
Prohibition of Through Traffic
Date of Order: 19 May 2025
Coming into force: 27 May 2025

This Order is being introduced because of power supply works which are anticipated to be completed on 4 June 2025.

The effect of the Order is to temporarily prohibit any vehicle proceeding in the northern section of Walterbush Road outside property number 2B. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed to indicate when the measures are in force. Exemptions are included for emergency services and for the works and for access to premises which are only accessible from the closed section of road.

The alternative route for traffic is via Hailey Road – Churchill Road – West End and The Green.

This Order will remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed whichever is the sooner. (Ref.T15794/RAG)

Notice of Temporary Traffic Order

Banbury, Footpath Between Bretch Hill and Harlech Close
Date of Order: 6/5/2025
Coming into force: 14/5/2025

This Order is being introduced because of mobile telephone trackwork of approx. 170 metres, which is anticipated to be completed 21/5/2025. The effect of the Order is to close temporarily part of the footpath between Bretch Hill and Harlech Close, Banbury. Exemptions are included for emergency services, for Works and for pedestrian access to premises which are only accessible from the closed sections of footpath. The alternative route will be signed locally. Appropriate signs will be displayed to indicate when the measures are in force. (Ref: T15333/RMF)
