Leeds (Various Roads) and Newmarket Approach Footpath - Temporary Prohibition of Traffic and Temporary Closure (Further Extension Notice)

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 – SECTION 14(1)

(Various Roads, Leeds)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that because works to lay new water mains and transfer services are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the under mentioned highways, Leeds City Council has today made an Order the effect of which is that: No person shall cause or permit any vehicle to travel along sections of each of following roads during any time within the overall Order period, when works are being carried out upon that particular road. The provisional individual closure dates are indicated below, however these are subject to change. Alston La 21 - 28 May & 11 - 24 June; Stainmore Pl 29 May - 10 June; Tarnside Dr 23 June - 27 July; Hawkshead Cres 21 July - 18 Aug. Dufton App 28 July - 3 August; Mardale Cres 18 - 31 Aug and 27 Oct - 16 Nov 2025; Ironwood App 1 Sept - 12 Oct; Ironwood Cres 13 - 26 Oct 2025. Diversionary routes for vehicles affected by the closure will be available and posted on site. The Order shall come into operation on Wednesday 21 May 2025 and will remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works are completed if earlier. The works are expected to be completed by Wednesday 26th November 2025. The individual closures will be in place between 08:00 and 18:00 hrs on each day. (Newmarket Approach Footpath) (Temporary Closure)
Order 2024 – Further Extension Notice

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the above-named Order that was made by Leeds City Council on 20 June 2024 to facilitate new highway and bridleway works, and which was due to expire on 8 May 2025, is to remain in force (with the approval of the Secretary of State for Transport) until 8 November 2025, or until the date of completion of the works if earlier. The works are expected to be completed by 8 September 2025. The effect of the Order, as extended, is to continue the closure of Newmarket Approach footpath, that runs from Pontefract Lane to Halton Moor Road, in the Burmantofts and Richmond Hill Ward. A diversionary route for pedestrians is available via Newmarket Lane, A63.The closure will be in place 24 hours a day. All communications regarding this footpath should be addressed to PROW@leeds.gov.uk reference TC10080.
