Kirklees (Multiple Areas) - Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Orders

What is happening?

KIRKLEES COUNCIL - ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14

(SMITHIES LANE, BIRSTALL, BATLEY)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN  that the Council of the Borough of Kirklees by reason of works proposed to be carried out on or near the road intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be that no person shall cause or permit any vehicle to proceed in that length of Smithies Lane, Birstall, Batley from a point outside Wharfedale House for approximately 48 metres North along Smithies Lane PROVIDED THAT such prohibition shall not extend to vehicles being used in connection with the works to be carried out on or near the closed length of road or to vehicles requiring access up to the point(s) of the closure. Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times.

Alternative routes for vehicles affected by the closure will be available via:

Clockwise - Smithies Lane, Bradford Road, Kirkgate, Low Lane, Chapel Lane, Smithies Lane

Anti-clockwise - Smithies Lane, Market Street, Low Lane, Kirkgate,Bradford Road, Smithies Lane  

It is intended that the closure will commence on Tuesday 27 May 2025 and remain in force until 13 June 2025 (although it can remain in force for any period up to 18 months if necessary).

(CHURCH ROAD, LIVERSEDGE)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) (NO 2) ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN  that the Council of the Borough of Kirklees by reason of works proposed to be carried out on or near the road intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be that no person shall cause or permit any vehicle to proceed in that length of Church Road, Liversedge, from its junction with Clough Lane to its junction with Roberttown Lane PROVIDED THAT such prohibition shall not extend to vehicles being used in connection with the works to be carried out on or near the closed length of road or to vehicles requiring access up to the point(s) of the closure.

Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times.

Alternative routes for vehicles affected by the closure will be available via Windy Bank Lane, Peep Green Road, Fall Lane, Roberttown Lane and vice versa

It is intended that the closure will commence on Monday 26 May 2025 08:00 and remain in force until 30 May 2025 18:00 (although it can remain in force for any period up to 18 months if necessary).

(HIGH STREET, HECKMONDWIKE)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN  that the Council of the Borough of Kirklees by reason of works proposed to be carried out on or near the road intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be that no person shall cause or permit any vehicle to proceed in that length of High Street, Heckmondwike from its junction with Milton Square to a point approximately 70 metres East on High Street PROVIDED THAT such prohibition shall not extend to vehicles being used in connection with the works to be carried out on or near the closed length of road or to vehicles requiring access up to the point(s) of the closure. Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times Alternative routes for vehicles affected by the closure will be available via:

Eastward
High Street, Market Street, Walkley Lane, Heckmondwike Road, Cemetery Road, Huddersfield Road, Webster Hill, Dewsbury Ring Road, Halifax Road

Westwards
Halifax Road, Dewsbury Ring Road, Huddersfield Road, Temple Road, Heckmondwike Road, Walkley Lane, Market Street, High Street

It is intended that the closure will commence on from 22:00 hours on Tuesday 27 May 2025 hours and will remain in force until 30 May 2025 at 06:00 hours (although it can remain in force for any period up to 18 months if necessary)

(SANDS LANE, MIRFIELD)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN  that the Council of the Borough of Kirklees by reason of works proposed to be carried out on or near the road has made an Order the effect of which will be that no person shall cause or permit any vehicle to proceed in that length of Sands Lane, Mirfield from a point outside Ladywood Lakes (fishing lake) to a point outside Sands House. PROVIDED THAT such prohibition shall not extend to vehicles being used in connection with the works to be carried out on or near the closed length of road or to vehicles requiring access up to the point(s) of the closure. Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times. No diversion required.

It is intended that the closure will commence on Monday 12 May 2025 and remain in force for approximately one day (although it can remain in force for any period up to 18 months if necessary).

(KIRKGATE, HANGING HEATON, BATLEY)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC)
(NO 2) ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN  that the Council of the Borough of Kirklees by reason of works proposed to be carried out on or near the road has made an Order the effect of which will be that no person shall cause or permit any vehicle to proceed in that length of Kirkgate, Hanging Heaton, from a point outside St Paul’s Church to a point outside Property no.31 Kirkgate PROVIDED THAT such prohibition shall not extend to vehicles being used in connection with the works to be carried out on or near the closed length of road or to vehicles requiring access up to the point(s) of the closure.

Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times.

Alternative routes for vehicles affected by the closure will be available via Kirkgate, High Street, Highgate Street, Kirkgate and vice versa. It is intended that the closure will commence on Monday 12 May 2025 19:00 hours and remain in force until 13 May 2025 06:00 hours (although it can remain in force for any period up to 18 months if necessary).

(HIGH STREET, THORNHILL EDGE, DEWSBURY)
(TEMPORARY
PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC)

2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN  that the Council of the Borough of Kirklees by reason of works proposed to be carried out on or near the road has made an Order the effect of which will be that no person shall cause or permit any vehicle to proceed in that length of High Street, Thornhill Edge from the  junction of High Street for approximately 50 metres West along Low Road PROVIDED THAT such prohibition shall not extend to vehicles being used in connection with the works to be carried out on or near the closed length of road or to vehicles requiring access up to the point(s) of the closure.

Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times.

Alternative routes for vehicles affected by the closure will be available via Edge Junction, Albion Road, Edge Lane, Edge Avenue, Overthorpe Avenue, Briestfield Road, Low Road and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will commence on Tuesday 13 May 2025 and remain in force for approximately one day (although it can remain in force for any period up to 18 months if necessary).

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN  that the Council of the Borough of Kirklees by reason of works proposed to be carried out on or near the road have made an Order the effect of which will be that no person shall cause or permit any vehicle to proceed in the lengths of road Dewsbury, Batley, Mirfield, Cleckheaton, Liversedge & Birkenshaw on a rolling programming as follows:

Westgate/Moorbottom/Moorside (A643), Cleckheaton - from the crossing near Greenside to Sycamore Lane

Huddersfield Road, Mirfield (A644) -  from Steanard Lane to Knowl Road

Hick Lane (C524), Batley - from Bradford Road (A652) to Wellington Street

Wellington Street (C524), Batley -  from Hick Lane to Clerk Green Street

Mayman Lane, Batley (B6123) -  from Clerk Green Street to Stocks Lane

Hostingley Lane (B6117), Thornhill, Dewsbury - from Wakefield Boundary to Four Lane Ends

Clough Lane, Liversedge -  from Church Road to Halifax Road

Liversedge Hall Lane, Liversedge -  from Huddersfield Road (A62) to  Norristhorpe Lane

School Lane, Hartshead, Liversedge -  from Windy Bank Lane to Fall Lane

Kitson Hill Road, Mirfield -  from Old Bank Road to Stocks Bank Road

Station Lane, Birkenshaw, Bradford -  from Town Street to Bradford Boundary

Grange Road, Cleckheaton -  from Whitcliffe Road (B6120) to Hill Street

PROVIDED THAT such prohibition shall not extend to vehicles being used in connection with the works to be carried out on or near the closed length of road or to vehicles requiring access up to the point(s) of the closure. Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times.

Please be advised diversions will be signed locally as and when required.

It is intended that the closure will commence on Monday 12 May 2025 and remain in force until 30 September 2025. These roads will not be closed for the entire duration of dates specified. These closures will be completed on a rolling program. Individual closures will usually be for up to a day (although it can remain in force for any period up to 18 months if necessary).

(SOWOOD LANE, BRIESTFIELD, DEWSBURY)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC)
ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN  that the Council of the Borough of Kirklees by reason of works proposed to be carried out on or near the road has made an Order the effect of which will be that no person shall cause or permit any vehicle to proceed in that length of Sowood Lane, Briestfield, from its junction with Denby Lane to approximately a point outside Pudding Hill Farm PROVIDED THAT such prohibition shall not extend to vehicles being used in connection with the works to be carried out on or near the closed length of road or to vehicles requiring access up to the point(s) of the closure.

Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times.

No diversion required.

It is intended that the closure will commence on Monday 12 May 2025 and remain in force until 14 May 2025 (although it can remain in force for any period up to 18 months if necessary).

(WHITLEY ROAD, THORNHILL, DEWSBURY)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) (NO 2)
ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN  that the Council of the Borough of Kirklees by reason of works proposed to be carried out on or near the road has made an Order the effect of which will be that no person shall cause or permit any vehicle to proceed in that length of Whitley Road, Thornhill at a point approximately outside Fox Cottage, Whitley Road PROVIDED THAT such prohibition shall not extend to vehicles being used in connection with the works to be carried out on or near the closed length of road or to vehicles requiring access up to the point(s) of the closure. Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times.

Alternative routes for vehicles affected by the closure will be available via Whitley Road, Clough Lane, Tanhouse Lane, Liley Lane, Wakefield Road, New Road, Hostingley Lane, Church Lane, Hall Lane, The Combs, The Common, Overthorpe Road, Overthorpe Avenue, Edge Top Road, Whitley Road and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will commence on Wednesday 14 May 2025 and remain in force until 16 May 2025 (although it can remain in force for any period up to 18 months if necessary).

(HORNER AVENUE, CARLINGHOW, BATLEY)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) (NO 2)
ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN  that the Council of the Borough of Kirklees by reason of works proposed to be carried out on or near the road has made an Order the effect of which will be that no person shall cause or permit any vehicle to proceed in that length of Horner Avenue, Carlinghow from a point approximately outside property no. 1 Horner Avenue  to a point approximately outside property no. 5 Horner Avenue PROVIDED THAT such prohibition shall not extend to vehicles being used in connection with the works to be carried out on or near the closed length of road or to vehicles requiring access up to the point(s) of the closure. Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times.

Alternative routes for vehicles affected by the closure will be available via Carlinghow Lane, Enfield Close, Enfield Drive, Horner Crescent, Horner Avenue and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will commence on Thursday 15 May 2025 09:30 and remain in force until 15 May 2025 15:30 (although it can remain in force for any period up to 18 months if necessary).
