PUBLIC NOTICE

THE WOLVERHAMPTON CITY COUNCIL

(LOWER STREET) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION

OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025


NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Wolverhampton Council propose to make an Order under Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as substituted by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, prohibiting vehicles from proceeding on Lower Street in both directions between its junctions with Malthouse Lane/Lowlands Avenue Grotto Lane.
The Order may operate for a maximum period of eighteen months, but it is anticipated that the works will be undertaken from 17 May 2025 until 12 June 2025.
The diversion route is: The Rock, Wergs Road, Heath House Lane, Oakens Lane, Hilstons Hill, Suckling Green Lane, Birches Road, Codsall Road and vice versa.
The Order is required to facilitate gas mains replacement works by Cadent Gas.
