Borwick Road - Temporary Prohibition Of Through Traffic
What is happening?

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Lancashire County Council have made an Order under Section 14(1) (a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit traffic on the roads set out in this notice.
1. No person shall cause any motor vehicle to proceed over that length of Borwick Road, Borwick from outside property no.1 to outside property no.2 on Borwick Road, Borwick.
2. Nothing in this order shall apply to persons engaged in the carrying out of the works.
3. The prohibition will be operative from 0800 hours on Wednesday 7th May 2025 until 1700 hours on Tuesday 13th May 2025 or until completion of the works within this period.
4. Pedestrian access to properties will always be maintained.
5. An alternative route for vehicular traffic affected by the closure is via:-
Borwick Road, B6254 Kirkby Lonsdale Road – B6254 Kellet Road – B6254 Market Street – A6 Scotland Road – A6070 Burton Road, Tewitfield – Whitebeck Lane – Borwick Lane - Borwick Road and voice versa.
AND FURTHER, during the period of the temporary prohibition the existing 7.5 tonne weight restriction on B6254 Market Street, Carnforth for its entire length will be temporarily suspended.
The temporary prohibition is necessary to allow Network Plus to carry out x2 short 25 millimetre water connections on behalf of United Utilities and also excavate joint bay in carriageway to install and joint cable for new connection to be carried out on behalf of Electricity North West.
