Darlington Borough Council, Variation of Parking Charges

DARLINGTON BOROUGH COUNCIL – VARIATION OF PARKING CHARGES

Notice is hereby given pursuant to Section 35C and 46A of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 that Darlington Borough Council is varying the charges for the use of its on-street and off-street parking places. The following changes will take effect from the 2nd June 2025:

1. The charge for parking in the parking places listed in Schedule One is currently £1 per hour or part thereof from 8am–6pm on all days. This will change to the charges set out in Schedule One.

2. The charge at East Street Car Park is currently £1 per hour or £2 for the day Monday–Saturday; and £1 all day Sunday. This will change to £1.20 per hour or £3 for the day Monday–Saturday; and £2 all day Sunday. Parking hours will remain the same.

3. The existing and new charges for the long stay car parks at Archer Street, Garden Street, Hird Street, Kendrew Street East, Kendrew Street West, Park Place East, Park Place West and St Hilda’s are set out in Schedule Two.

4. The charge for parking in Central House Car Park on Saturdays and bank holidays 8am–6pm will change from £4 per day to £5 per day; and at 8am–6pm on Sundays from £1 per day to £2 per day.

5. The charge for parking a car on a Sunday in Chesnut Street Car Park will change from £1 to £2 per day.

6. The charge for parking on a Sunday in Park Lane Car Park will change from £1 per day to £2; and a weekly ticket will be available for £32.

   1. The existing charge for parking in the on street parking places in Barnard Street, Barnard Street East Back, Beaumont Street, Beaumont Street West, Duke Street, East Raby Street, East Row, Gladstone Street, Grange Road, Hargreave Terrace, Horsemarket, Kendrew Street, Larchfield Street, Napier Street, North Lodge Terrace, Northumberland Street, Park Place, Powlett Street, Primrose Street, Raby Street, South Arden Street, Swan Street, Victoria Embankment, Victoria Road North Back, West Powlett Street and Winston Street is 50p per 30 minutes or part thereof. This will change to 70p per 30 minutes or part thereof. The time restrictions will remain the same for each parking place.
