What is happening?

ASHLEY ROAD (A3049) AND ASSOC. ROADS, BOURNEMOUTH –
HIGHWAY IMPROVEMENT WORKS
TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole Council intends to make temporary traffic regulations, with the effects detailed below, to control traffic.
WHAT, WHERE AND WHEN: The following will be closed to all vehicles with no parking – no waiting at any time and no loading/unloading at anytime:
Ashley Road (A3049) northbound direction (remains open to all southbound traffic), from its junction with Christchurch Roundabout to its junction with Tower Road – anticipated dates 21st May until 20th June 2025
North Road, from the property boundary of No.68 Ashley Road to its junction with Ashley Road – anticipated dates 21st May until 20th June 2025
Shelley Road East, from the property boundary of No.41 to its junction with Ashley Road – anticipated dates 21st May until 20th June 2025
Gladstone Road, from the property boundary of No.59 to its junction with Ashley Road – anticipated dates 21st May until 20th June 2025
Ashley Road (A3049) full road closure, from its junction with Christchurch Roundabout to its junction with Tower Road – anticipated dates 20th June until 4th July 2025
Suspension of one-way to permit two-way traffic for vehicular access on Shelley Road East and Gladstone Road
WHY: To facilitate highway improvement works and carriageway resurfacing by Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole Council
ACCESS: Full emergency services access will be maintained, access to properties will remain depending on site safety. There will be no vehicular access to properties/businesses during the full road closure on Ashley Road – anticipated dates 20th June - 4th July 2025
DIVERSION:
Ashley Road (A3049) northbound closure and full road closure via Holdenhurst Road, Springbourne Roundabout, Wessex Way, St Pauls Roundabout, St Pauls Road, Station Roundabout, St Swithuns Road South, St Swithuns Roundabout, Christchurch Road
North Road/Shelley Road East and Gladstone Road via Portman Road and Christchurch Road

These arrangements may be amended/extended should works overrun or weather conditions delay operations. Restrictions may be in effect under this Order for up to 18 months, and could be further extended with the approval of the Secretary of State.
