Isle of Wight - Multiple Traffic Notices, Temporary Road Closures and Restrictions due to Development Works

What is happening?

The Isle of Wight Council’s Temporary Traffic Regulation Orders

Notice is hereby given that the Isle of Wight Council in not less than seven days from the appearance of this Notice, under Section 14 (1) (a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, proposes to make the following Orders: -

The Isle of Wight Council (Horsebridge Hill and Parkhurst Road, Newport, Isle of Wight) (Temporary One-Way Restriction) Order No 1 2025

Island Roads on behalf of The Isle of Wight Council give notice that from 1800 hours on Sunday 11 May 2025 until 1800 hours on Friday 11 July 2025 or when the works have been completed, a one-way restriction will be introduced along Horsebridge Hill and Parkhurst Road in a southerly direction, from 50 metres north of Nicholson Street to Partridge Road. The alternative route will be Forest Road, Whitehouse Road, Rolls Hill, Pallance Road. The restriction is required for safety during Development works.

The Isle of Wight Council (Various Streets, Newport, Isle of Wight) (Temporary 30 mph Speed Restriction) Order No 2 2025

Island Roads on behalf of The Isle of Wight Council give notice that from 1800 hours on Sunday 11 May 2025 until 1800 hours on Friday 11 July 2025, or when the works have been completed, There will be a temporary speed restriction along a) Parkhurst Road, between its junction with Horsebridge Hill and Partridge Road and b) Horsebridge Hill, between its junction with Parkhurst Road and 100 metres north of Nicholson Street. On-street signage will depict the exact lengths. The restriction is required for Development works.

The Isle of Wight Council (Whitehouse Road, Newport, Isle of Wight) (Temporary 40 mph Speed Restriction) Order No 1 2025

Island Roads on behalf of The Isle of Wight Council give notice that from 1800 hours on Sunday 11 May 2025 until 1800 hours on Friday 11 July 2025, or when the works have been completed, There will be a temporary speed restriction along a) Whitehouse Road, between its junction with Forest Road and its junction with Little Whitehouse Road, and b) Little Whitehouse Road, between its junction with Whitehouse Road and its junction with Thorness Lane. On-street signage will depict the exact lengths. The restriction is required for safety while Development works are undertaken on Horsebridge Hill.

The Isle of Wight Council (Pallance Road, Northwood, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Twenty-Four-Hour Highway Clearway) Order No 1 2025

The Isle of Wight Council gives notice that from 1800 hours on Sunday 11 May 2025 until 1800 hours on Friday 11 July 2025, a Twenty-Four-Hour Highway Clearway Order will be implemented along: Pallance Road, Northwood from its junction with Rew Street to its junction with Nodes Road. In this Order, no person shall cause or permit any vehicle to wait on the carriageway, in the above sections of road.

The provisions of this Order are in the interests of road and pedestrian safety due to Acorn Farm development.

The Isle of Wight Council (Various Streets, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Revocation of 6’ 6” Width Restriction) Order No 1 2025

Island Roads on behalf of The Isle of Wight Council give notice that from 1800 hours on Sunday 11 May 2025 until 1800 hours on Friday 11 July 2025, or when the works have been completed, the 6’ 6” width restriction will be revoked along A) Rolls Hill, Porchfield. B) Hillis Gate Road, Northwood. C) Pallance Road, Northwood for their entire lengths. The revocation is required to enable Traffic on the diverted route for development works to be undertaken at Acorn farm.
