What is happening?

NORTH LANARKSHIRE COUNCIL

FOREST ROAD, CUMBERNAULD

(TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE) ORDER 2025

On 28 April 2025 the North Lanarkshire Council made the above-named Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by Schedule 1 of the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, and in exercise of all other enabling powers, which makes it unlawful for any person to drive or cause or permit to be driven any motor vehicle (with the exception of vehicles engaged on Scottish Water trunk mains diversion) on Forest Road, Cumbernauld from Redwood Junction to Abronhill Service Station by reason of works being executed on or near that location.

Alternative routes: Vehicles on Forest Road will be diverted via Redwood Road, Blackthorn Road and Forest Road.

Vehicles on Redwood Road turning left on Forest Road will be diverted via Forest Road, Lye Brae, Kildrum South Roundabout, Lye Brae, Forest Road, Redwood Road, Blackthorn Road and Forest Road.

The Order, will come into operation at 0000 hours on Tuesday, 13 May 2025 and will remain in operation until 2359 hours on Friday, 8 August 2025.
