ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14(1)

(LONDON ROAD, MITCHAM)

TEMPORARY RESTRICTION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025

  1. The London Borough of Merton Council hereby give notice that to facilitate Thames Water works and carriageway re-surfacing works to be undertaken in London Road, Mitcham, they intend to make an Order, the effect of which would be to temporarily restrict vehicular traffic in the said road.

  2. During the works, no person would cause or permit any vehicle to proceed:

    (a) the length of London Road which lies between its junction with Upper Green West, the west to east arm and its junction with Upper Green East (A236);

    (b) London Road, the north-eastbound contra-flow bus route, between Raleigh Gardens and Upper Green West (A236).

  3. The restrictions would apply only during such times and to such extent as would from time to time be indicated by traffic signs prescribed by the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016.

  4. Vehicular traffic affected by the lane closure should proceed via Raleigh Gardens and Holborn Way or Holborn Way and Upper Green West.

  5. Nothing in the Order would apply: –

    (a) to any vehicle being used in connection with the execution of the said works; or

    (b) to anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police officer in uniform or police community support officer in uniform.

    (c) to any vehicle being used for police, fire brigade or ambulance purposes, when used in an emergency.

  6. The Order would come into operation on Tuesday 13th May 2025, with the works anticipated to be completed on Friday 30th May 2025. However, the Order would remain in force for a maximum period of 3 months and its provisions would be re-enacted during that period should further works be required.

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14(1)

LONDON BOROUGH OF MERTON

(CAMBRIDGE ROAD, SW20)

(TEMPORARY RESTRICTION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025

  1. The Council of the London Borough of Merton hereby give notice that to facilitate new water connection works in Cambridge Road, they have made an Order, the effect of which will be to temporarily restrict vehicular traffic in the said road.

  2. During the works, no person will:

    (a) cause or permit any vehicle to enter or proceed in Cambridge Road, from its junction with Coombe Lane to its junction with Richmond Road; or

    (b) cause or permit any vehicle to wait, including for the purposes of loading or unloading, in the road or length of road specified in sub-paragraph (a) above.

  3. Any designated parking place situated in the road or length of road specified in sub-paragraph 2(b) above will be suspended for the duration of the works.

  4. The restrictions and suspensions will only apply during such times and to such extent as would from time to time be indicated by traffic signs prescribed by the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016.

  5. Vehicular traffic affected by the road closure should proceed by way of Coombe Lane, Durham Road and Richmond Road or vice-versa.

  6. Nothing in the Order will apply to:

    (a) any person or vehicle engaged in the execution of the said works; or

    (b) anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform or a police community support officer in uniform; or

    (c) any vehicle being used for police, fire brigade or ambulance purposes, subject to site conditions; or

    (d) any person requiring vehicular access to properties adjacent to the prohibited length or road if such access is reasonably practicable without interfering with the said works.

  7. Any vehicle waiting in contravention of any waiting prohibition imposed by the Order may be removed under the provisions of the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986.

  8. The Order will come into operation on Monday 12th May 2025 and it is anticipated that the works will be completed on Friday 23rd May 2025. However, the Order will remain in force for 3 months should further works be required.

VARIOUS ROADS

BOROUGH-WIDE GULLY CLEANSING

(TEMPORARY RESTRICTION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025

  1. The Council of the London Borough of Merton hereby give notice that to enable gully cleansing works to be undertaken, they have made an Order to restrict parking on lengths of the roads specified in the Schedule to this Notice.

  2. During the works no person shall cause or permit any unauthorised vehicle to wait, load or unload in various lengths of the roads specified in the Schedule to this Notice. Existing marked parking places in the various lengths of said roads will be suspended.

  3. The works are scheduled to be carried out on a rolling basis. Warning signs will be placed in each road 3 days before the works are expected to take place and cones will be put in place the day before. The works are expected to take 1 day per road, but may take longer if there are unforeseen delays. A schedule will be published in advance where possible.

  4. The restrictions will only apply during such times and to such an extent as indicated by traffic signs prescribed by legislation.

  5. Nothing in the Order will apply to: –

    (a) anything done with the permission of a police officer in uniform.
