Dickens Avenue - Temporarily Prohibition Vehicles To Install A New Duct

What is happening?

THE BOROUGH COUNCIL OF GATESHEAD
(DICKENS AVENUE, SWALWELL)
TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER 2025

Notice is hereby given that on the 7 May 2025 the Borough Council of Gateshead made an Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit vehicles from proceeding along Dickens Avenue from its junction with Ruskin Road for its entire length.

The Order is required to facilitate works being carried out in the highway to install a new duct.

The Order will come into force at 09:00 on 14 May 2025.

The maximum duration of the Order will be 18 months; however, the works are expected to be completed by 16:00 on 16 May.

The works will only be undertaken between the hours of 09:00 and 16:00 on each operative day.

During the works all vehicles (except vehicles associated with the works and emergency service vehicles on duty) will be prohibited from proceeding along the above road until the works are completed or at such times and to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the display of traffic signs.
