Main Street Back, Kepier Chare - Temporarily Prohibition Vehicles For Remove Cement And Resurfacing Works
What is happening?

TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER 2025
Notice is hereby given that on the 7 May 2025 the Borough Council of Gateshead made an Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit vehicles from proceeding along Main Street Back to Back Chamberlain Street from a point 26 metres west of its junction with Kepier Chare in a westerly direction for a distance of 17 metres.
The Order is required to facilitate works being carried out in the highway to remove cement and resurfacing works. The Order will come into force at 19:00 on 15 May 2025.
The maximum duration of the Order will be 18 months; however the works are expected to be completed by 22:00 on 15 May 2025.
During the works all vehicles (except vehicles associated with the works and emergency service vehicles on duty) will be prohibited from proceeding along the above road until the works are completed or at such times and to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the display of traffic signs. During the works there will be a signed diversion in place.
