What is happening?
THE SURREY COUNTY COUNCIL
Cottenhams (D489) Blindley Heath Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025
On 2 May 2025, Surrey County Council made the above-mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Cottenhams (D489) Blindley Heath as extends from the entrance to the property known as “Kings Hall” to the end of Cottenhams.
There is no alternative route for this closure.
The Order is required to allow SGN and UKPN to facilitate new connection works and all associated works. These works are anticipated to be carried out over 2 phases during the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 19 May 2025 for 4 days and the second phase on 23 June 2025 for 4 days. Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for emergency services, residents, pedestrians, dismounted cyclists and equestrians will be maintained at all times.
Cromwell Road (D1392) and Cromwell Grove (D1392) Caterham Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025
On 2 May 2025, Surrey County Council made the above-mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from waiting in: (a) that length of Cromwell Road (D1392) Caterham as extends from the entrance to the property known as “84 Crowell Grove” to the end of Cromwell Grove; and (b) the entire length of Cromwell Grove (D1392) Caterham.
The Order is required to allow UKPN to facilitate cable diversion and all associated works. These works are anticipated to be carried out during the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 21 May 2025 for 3 weeks. Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. NB – the disabled parking bay on Cromwell Grove will be suspended during these works.
Park Road (C134) Banstead Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025
On 2 May 2025, Surrey County Council made the above-mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) and 14(7) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to: (a) prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length Park Road (C134) Banstead as it extends from the northern boundary of the property known as “The Cottage” to the eastern boundary of the property known as “The Hay Barn”; (b) prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length Park Road (C134) Banstead as it extends from the entrance to the property known as “Larklands” and the entrance to the property known as “Haughdell House”; and (c) suspend “The Surrey County Council Park Road (C134) Banstead Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025” insofar as it relates to the road described in (a).
Alternative Route – Park Road, B2217 (High Street), B2219 (Bolters Lane, Holly Lane) and Park Road, or this route in reverse.
This Order is required to enable Openreach and SGN to facilitate desilting and associated works. These works are anticipated to be carried out over 2 phases during the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 18 May 2025 for 1 day and the second phase on 9 June 2025 for 1 week. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in operation 24-hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for emergency services, residents, pedestrians, cyclists and equestrians will be maintained at all times.
Various in Tandridge Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order (No.3) 2025
On 7 May 2025 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in the lengths of roads specified and described in the Schedule to this Notice. This Order is required to enable Surrey County Council to facilitate major maintenance works, which is anticipated to be completed as soon as possible within the 18 month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 12 May 2025. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. In the event that it is necessary to restrict any access at any time under Section 3 of the Act, the road can only be closed for a maximum of 8 hours in any 24-hour period. Any vehicle found to be obstructing the highway during these works will be removed to a suitable location outside the limits of the works after all reasonable methods have been undertaken to identify and contact the vehicle’s owner. Access for pedestrians and cyclists will be maintained at all times. Access to premises within the affected length of road, including access for emergency service vehicles to these properties, will be maintained when safe to do so and if necessary via the signed diversion route.

2. the entire length of D1384 Church Road, Whyteleafe. Alternative Route – C227 Whyteleafe Hill and D1388 Salmons Lane;
3. the entire length of D426 Mill Lane, Hurst Green. Alternative Route – D426 Warren Lane, D424 Holland Road and D424 Hurst Green Road;
4. the entire length of D439 East Hill Road, Oxted. Alternative Route – A25 West Hill and C82 Church Lane;

6. the entire length of D462 New Farthingdale, Dormansland. Alternative Route – C90 High Street and C91 Hollow Lane;
7. that length of D1390 Succombs Hill, Whyteleafe/Warlingham which extends from its junction with A22 Wapses Lodge Roundabout to its junction with Landscape Road. Alternative Route – D1357 Narrow Lane, D1357 Westhall Road, B270 Hillbury Lane and A22 Godstone Road.
C55 Headley Road and C55 Clay Lane, Leatherhead Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025
Surrey County Council propose to make the above mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of C55 Headley Road and C55 Clay Lane, Leatherhead that extends from the junction with The Drive, to the junction with C56 Tilley Lane. This Traffic Order is required to enable BT Openreach to gain access to existing telegraph pole(s) to provide fibre overhead cabling and/or to carry out maintenance works in C55 Headley Road, Leatherhead that extends from the south-western property boundary of “No.3 Highlands Farm Cottages”, eastward for a distance of 1170m. These works are anticipated to be carried out between the hours of 8am and 4pm within 1 day of the 12 month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 01 June 2025. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for emergency services, residents, businesses, equestrians, cyclists and pedestrians will be maintained at all times under direction of site operatives. Alternative route:- Headley Road, By-Pass Road, Reigate Road, Mill Way, Leech Lane, Tot Hill, Church Lane, Clay Lane and Headley Road.
Hooley Lane (C222) Redhill Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025
Surrey County Council propose to make the above-mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of the westbound carriageway of Hooley Lane (C222) Redhill as extends from its eastern junction with (D1266) Brook Road westwards for a distance of 35 metres. Alternative Route – Hooley Lane; Philanthropic Road; Redstone Hollow; A25 Redstone Hill; A23 Marketfield Way/Brighton Road; and Brook Road or this same route in reverse. The Order is required to allow new telecoms installation works and/or any other associated works to be carried out by, or on behalf of Marjen Ltd and/or Waldon Telecoms within the length of road described in this notice. These works are anticipated to be carried out as soon as possible over nine days between the hours of 9.30am and 3.30pm within the 12-month period of operation of the Temporary Order that commences on 03 June 2025. Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for the emergency services, pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times. All other traffic, including residents, will be required to use the signed diversion route. No sole access will be affected by this closure.
Bridge Street (D2885) Leatherhead Temporary Prohibition of Waiting, Loading and Unloading Order 2025
Surrey County Council propose to make the above mentioned Temporary Order under Sections 14(1) and 14(7) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit waiting, loading, and unloading at any time, by vehicles in that length of (a) the south western carriageway of Bridge Street (D2885) Leatherhead as extends from a point in line with the common boundary between property No.17 and No.19 Bridge Street to a point in line with the common boundary between property No.47 and No.49a Bridge Street; and; (b) Suspend “The Surrey County Council (Various Roads in Mole Valley) (Revocation and Consolidation of Waiting, Loading and Unloading Prohibition and Restriction) Order 2017” insofar as it affects that length of road specified in Part (a) of this Notice.
This Temporary Order is required to facilitate gas disconnection works for, or on behalf of SGN. These works are anticipated to be carried out over 5 days, between the hours of 8am and 4pm, during the 12-month period of operation of this Order which commences on 02 June 2025.
This temporary restriction, which is anticipated to be in operation 24 hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed and only to such extent as indicated by those traffic signs. Exemptions apply for vehicles when waiting because they are required by law to stop, are obliged to stop in order to prevent an accident or are prevented from proceeding because of circumstances outside the drivers control and in respect of anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform or of a civil enforcement officer will apply when the temporary restrictions are in force. (N.B. Disabled persons displaying a disabled blue badge will not be exempt from the temporary waiting restriction).
Westcott Street (D272) Westcott Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025
Surrey County Council propose to make the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Westcott Street (D272) Westcott as extends from its junction with (X14105) The Paddock to its junction with (D2804) Balchins Lane and (D272) Hole Hill.
Alternative Route: Balchins Lane, (A25) Coast Hill, (A25) Guildford Road, and Westcott Street, or this route in reverse. This Order is required to facilitate telecom utility works for, or on behalf of BT Openreach. These works are anticipated to be carried out over 5 days, between the hours of 8am and 4pm, during the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 02 June 2025.
Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access to premises within the affected length of road, including access by emergency service vehicles to these properties will be maintained at all times, as will access for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists.
Station Road (C72) Woldingham Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025
Surrey County Council propose to make the above-mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Station Road (C72) Woldingham between its junction with Church Road (D1363)/Woldingham Road (C72) and its junction with Croft Road (D1362/N35144)/Long Hill (N35143).
Alternative Route – Woldingham Road, Halliloo Valley Road, Slines Oak Road, B269 (Limpsfield Road), The Ridges, Northdown Road and Station Road, or this route in reverse.
The Order is required to allow Connick Tree Care to facilitate tree removal, branch reduction and all associated works. These works are anticipated to be carried out over 4 days during the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 2 June 2025. Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for emergency services, residents, pedestrians, cyclists and equestrians will be maintained at all times.
Lyons Court (D2844) Dorking Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025
Surrey County Council propose to make the above-mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Lyons Court (D2844) Dorking between its junction with High Street (A25) to the western boundary of the property known as “112 High Street”.
Alternative Route – A25 (High Street and Reigate Road), A24 (Deepdene Avenue), Chart Lane, Marlborough Hill and Marlborough Road, or this route in reverse.
The Order is required to allow UKPN and SES Water to facilitate new electrical and water connections and all associated works. These works are anticipated to be carried out over 2 weeks during the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 2 June 2025. Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for emergency services, pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times.
St Marys Road (D1222) Reigate Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025
Surrey County Council propose to make the above-mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of St Marys Road (D1222) Reigate as it extends from its junction with Bell Street (A217) to its junction with Lymden Gardens (D1222).
Alternative Route – A217 (Bell Street), Parkgate Road, Howard Road and St Marys Road, or this route in reverse.
This Order is required to enable the Council to facilitate highways maintenance and associated works. These works are anticipated to be carried out during the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 2 June 2025 for 4 days. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for emergency services, residents, pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times.
