(A129 London Road, Billericay) (Soap Box Derby Charity Event) (Special Events) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that Essex County Council in exercise of its powers under Section 16 A-C of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended, has made the above Order to facilitate the Soap Box Derby Charity Event.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close the A129 London Road, Billericay in the Borough of Basildon, from its junction with the mini roundabout at Sun Street, west for approximately 600 metres to its junction with Western Road/Tye Common Road.
The closure is scheduled to commence on 04 May 2025 for 1 day between the hours of 5:30am until 8.30pm or where appropriate signs are showing, and weather permitting and is required to facilitate the Soap Box Derby Charity Event.
The alternative route will be via High Street, Radford Way, Mountnessing Road and vice versa.
Access for emergency vehicles and pedestrians will be maintained at all times during the closure.
The Order will come into effect on 04 May 2025 and may continue in force for 3 days unless extended by the Secretary of State.
(Cycle Track, between Ferrers Road and Troubridge Close, South Woodham Ferrers) (Temporary Prohibition of Use) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended
Effect of the order: To temporarily close the Cycle Track, between Ferrers Road and Troubridge Close, South Woodham Ferrers in the City of Chelmsford from its junction with Ferrers Road to its junction with Troubridge Close, for approximately 465 metres.
The closure is scheduled to commence on 12 May 2025 to 04 July 2025 or where appropriate signs are showing and weather permitting. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while cycle track repairs are undertaken.
Alternative route: will be via Ferrers Road, Creekview Road, Cornwallis Drive, Troubridge Close and vice versa.
The Order will come into effect on 12 May 2024 and may continue in force for 6 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Cleveland Road, Canvey Island) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Cleveland Road, Canvey Island in the Borough of Castle Point, from its junction with Western Esplanade for a distance of approximately 20m in a north easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 26th May 2025 for 15 days, or where stated on a valid permit (AZ5021001372680 – Cadent). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while gas main replacement works are undertaken by Cadent.
An alternative route is available via Blackmore Avenue, Leigh Road, Western Esplanade and vice versa (with access only into Cleveland Road).
The Order will come into effect on 8th May 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Leigh Road, Canvey Island) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Leigh Road, Canvey Island in the Borough of Castle Point, from its junction with Western Esplanade for a distance of approximately 20m in a north easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 26th May 2025 for 15 days, or where stated on a valid permit (AZ5021001372801 – Cadent). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while gas main replacement works are undertaken by Cadent.
An alternative route is available via Western Esplanade and Furtherwick Road or Blackmore Avenue, Cleveland Road, Western Esplanade and vice versa (with access only into Leigh Road).
The Order will come into effect on 8th May 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Station Avenue, Rayleigh) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Station Avenue, Rayleigh in the District of Rochford, from its junction with The Approach to its junction with Glebe Drive a distance of approximately 130m. The closure is scheduled to commence on 27th May 2025 for 3 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EP201EH2381873 – Essex County Council). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while carriageway patching works are undertaken by Essex County Council.
An alternative route is available via Station Avenue, Lansdowne Drive, The Approach and vice versa.
The Order will come into effect on 8th May 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Arterial Road, Rayleigh) (Temporary Introduction of a 40MPH Speed Restriction) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily introduce a 40MPH restriction on that length of Arterial Road, Rayleigh in the District of Rochford, from a point where the Rayleigh Weir Roundabout is to the Southend on Sea District Boundary a distance of approximately 2385m in both directions. The restriction is scheduled to continue from 28th April 2025 for 75 nights (21:00–05:00), or where stated on a valid permit (EP201EH2382739 – Essex County Council). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The restriction is required for the safety of the public and workforce while vehicle restraint system replacement works are undertaken by Essex County Council.
The Order came into effect on 28th April 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Down Hall Road, Rayleigh) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Down Hall Road, Rayleigh in the District of Rochford, from its junction with Hullbridge Road for a distance of approximately 20m in a south westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 18th May 2025 for 1 day, or where stated on a valid permit (EN014M123918 – Essex And Suffolk Water). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while valve replacement works are undertaken by Essex And Suffolk Water.
An alternative route is available via Hullbridge Road, Rawreth Lane, Exmouth Drive, Teignmouth Drive, Down Hall Road and vice versa.
The Order came into effect on 24th April 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Hazlemere Road, Benfleet) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Hazlemere Road, Benfleet in the Borough of Castle Point, from a point approximately 35m south west of its junction with Church Road for a distance of approximately 45m in a south westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 12th May 2025 for 5 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EN014M122338 – Essex And Suffolk Water). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while reinstatement works are undertaken by Essex And Suffolk Water.
An alternative route is available via Hazlemere Road, Church Road, Manor Road, Chesterfield Avenue and vice versa.

(High Road, Benfleet) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) & (London Road, Benfleet) (Temporary Introduction of a No Right Turn and a No Left Turn) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order:
To temporarily close that length of High Road, Benfleet in the Borough of Castle Point, from its junction with London Road for a distance of approximately 40m in a southerly direction.
To temporarily introduce a no right hand turn from London Road, Benfleet in the Borough of Castle Point, into High Road, Benfleet in the Borough of Castle Point for the duration of the above closure only.
To temporarily introduce a no left hand turn from London Road, Benfleet in the Borough of Castle Point, into High Road, Benfleet in the Borough of Castle Point for the duration of the above closure only.
The closure/restrictions are scheduled to commence on 15th May 2025 for 1 night (23:00 – 05:00), or where stated on a valid permit (BC008WD3P553FSB02 & BC008WD3P553FSB03 – Openreach). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure/restrictions are required for the safety of the public and workforce while cabling works are undertaken by Openreach.
An alternative route is available via London Road, Sadlers Farm Roundabout, Bread And Cheese Hill, Kiln Road, London Road, Benfleet Road, Essex Way, High Road and vice versa.
The Order came into effect on 24th April 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Newton Hall Gardens, Ashingdon) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Newton Hall Gardens, Ashingdon in the District of Rochford, from a point approximately 110m north east then south east of its junction with Assandune Close for a distance of approximately 35m in a south easterly then south westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 13th May 2025 for 7 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EC30077924438 – UK Power Networks). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while installation works are undertaken by UK Power Networks.

(Timberlog Lane, Barstable) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Timberlog Lane, Barstable in the Borough of Basildon, from its junction with Timberlog Close to its junction with Mopsies Roundabout a distance of approximately 125m (north bound only). The closure is scheduled to commence on 14th May 2025 for 3 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EP201EH2382400 – Essex County Council). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while carriageway patching works are undertaken by Essex County Council.
An alternative route is available via Broadmayne, Broadmayne Roundabout, Roundacre, Roundacre New Roundabout, Nether Mayne, Fobbing Farm Roundabout, Nether Mayne, Five Bells Roundabout North, London Road, Clay Hill Road, Timberlog Lane.

(Various Roads, Borough of Basildon) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic & Temporary Introduction of a Clearway) (No.5) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order:
To temporarily close those lengths of roads in the Borough of Basildon as specified in the schedule to this Order.
A temporary ‘No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping’ restriction will be introduced on both sides of carriageway on the above lengths of roads for the duration of the closures to facilitate the works. Signs will be installed indicating when the No Waiting restriction will be in force.
“The Essex County Council (Basildon Borough) (Prohibition of Waiting, Loading and Stopping) and (On Street Parking Places) (Civil Enforcement Area) Consolidation Order 2019” will be temporarily amended to include the temporary ‘No Waiting at Any Time’ restriction and suspend any existing parking and waiting restrictions on the above lengths of roads only. All other restrictions and exemptions contained in the aforementioned Order and Amendments to that Order shall remain in force.
The works being undertaken will take place within an 18-month period from 24th April 2025, exact dates will be specified on one.network. The roads will be closed to facilitate each phase of works and then re-opened to the public. Access will be maintained for emergency services. Diversion routes will be signed at each location and residents will be informed of the dates of each phase via letter/leaflet drop and advanced warning signs on the roads.
