Hertfordshire - Multiple Traffic Notices, Temporary Road Closures due to Works

What is happening?

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF ORIENT CLOSE, ST ALBANS) ORDER 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Orient Close, St Albans from its junction with the A1081 London Road/Grosvenor Road roundabout south westwards for a distance of approximately 35m (“the Road”).

There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.

The Order is needed because utility service connection works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 19 May 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF THE FOOTPATH SITUATED ON THE SOUTH SIDE OF NO.14 WATLING VIEW, ST ALBANS) ORDER 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all pedestrians from using the footpath situated on the south side of No.14 Watling View, St Albans from its junction with Watling View south westwards for a distance of approximately 122m (“the Footpath”).

An alternative route will be via the footway situated on the south west side of Watling View and the footway situated on the south east side of Vesta Avenue.

The Order is needed because the installation of a new sub station is proposed to be executed near the Footpath.

If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 19 May 2025 for a period of up to 6 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Footpath.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF A4147 FOLLY LANE, ST ALBANS) ORDER 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of A4147 Folly Lane, St Albans from its junction with A4147 Catherine Street south westwards, north westwards, south westwards and north westwards to its junction with A5183 Folly Lane, a distance of approximately 644m (“the Road”).

An alternative route will be via A4147 Catherine Street, A1081 (St Peters Street/Chequer Street) and A5183 (High Street/Verulam Road/Folly Lane).

The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 24 May 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING AND TEMPORARY WAITING RESTRICTIONS IN OLD LONDON ROAD, ST ALBANS) ORDER 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Old London Road, St Albans from its junction with Watsons Walk south eastwards and north eastwards to its junction with A1081 London Road, a distance of approximately 462m (“the Road”), except for access.

An alternative route will be via Watsons Walk and A1081 London Road.

ADDITIONALLY all vehicles are prohibited from waiting at any time on both sides of this length of the Road whilst works are in progress.

The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 19 May 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF COMMON LANE, RADLETT) ORDER 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Common Lane, Radlett from a point in line with the northern boundary of ‘Common Lane House’ south westwards for a distance of approximately 12m (“the Road”), except for access.

An alternative route will be via Common Lane, New Road, B462 Radlett Road, Primrose Lane, Grange Lane and Common Lane.

The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

The Order has been made and shall come into force on 8 May 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF THEOBALD STREET, RADLETT) ORDER 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Theobald Street, Radlett from its junction with A5183 Watling Street north eastwards to its junction with Craigweil Avenue, a distance of approximately 224m(“the Road”).

An alternative route will be via A5183 (Watling Street/Cobden Hill/Watling Street), B5378 Allum Lane and Theobald Street.

The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

The Order has been made and shall come into force on 7 May 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF B652 STATION ROAD, HARPENDEN ORDER 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of B652 Station Road, Harpenden from its junction with Carlton Road south westwards to its junction with Victoria Road, a distance of approximately 89m (“the Road”), except for access.

An alternative route will be via B652 Station Road, B653 Lower Luton Road/Lower Harpenden Road, A1081 (New Airport Way/ Luton Road/Luton Road/High Street/St Albans Road) and B652 Station Road.

The Order is needed because bridge inspection works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

The Order has been made and shall come into force on 5 May 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF MORETON AVENUE, HARPENDEN) ORDER 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Moreton Avenue, Harpenden from its junction with Moreton End Lane south eastwards for a distance of approximately 29m (“the Road”).

An alternative route will be via Moreton End Lane, A1081 Luton Road, Douglas Road and Moreton Avenue

via Moreton End Lane, Alders End Lane, Townsend Lane, Douglas Road and Moreton Avenue.

The Order is needed because the replacement of an existing utility cover is proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

The Order has been made and shall come into force on 8 May 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING AND TEMPORARY WAITING

RESTRICTIONS IN VARIOUS ROADS IN HARPENDEN,

ST ALBANS AND LONDON COLNEY) ORDER 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the following lengths of roads (“the Roads”), except for access and to prohibit all vehicles from waiting at any time on both sides of these lengths of Roads whilst works are in progress:–

1. that length of Hadleigh Court, Harpenden from its junction with Welbeck Rise north westwards, south westwards, north eastwards and north westwards for its entire length.

There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.

2. the road situated to the rear of Nos 47-54 Whitecroft, St Albans from its junction with New House Park south eastwards and south westwards for its entire length.

There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.

3. that length of Reed Close, London Colney from a point in line with the southern boundary of ‘Bramley Cottage’ north westwards and north eastwards for its entire length.

There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.

The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Roads.

The Order has been made and shall come into force on 5 May 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Roads.
