Thanet, Multiple Temporary Traffic Regulation Notices

What is happening?

HIGHWAYS

Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984,  makes or intends to make the following Orders.

THANET AREA

B2052 Albion Street & Harbour Street, Broadstairs, CT10 1EP (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow sewer works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of B2052 Albion Street & Harbour Street, Broadstairs, on or after 1st June 2025 for up to 2 days or until the works have been completed.

Closures will be between the hours of 20:00 and 06:00 only.

B2052 Albion Street will be closed between the junctions of Alexandra Road and Church Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

Harbour Street will be closed from the junction of B2052 Albion Street to outside Harbour Cafe, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site. Every effort will be made to maintain access for residents whenever it is safe to do so.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via B2052 Nelson Place, Crow Hill, Lindenthorpe Road, Carlton Avenue, A255 High Street, B2052 High Street, B2052 Albion Street and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

High Street, Ramsgate, CT11 9DS (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING & SUSPENSION OF ONE-WAY) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow gas works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of High Street, Ramsgate, on or after 12th May 2025 for up to 9 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed opposite number 47, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The one-way Order will be suspended between the junctions of Queen Street and George Street, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Queen Street, Effingham Street, George Street and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Newlands Road, Whitehall Road & A254 Margate Road, Ramsgate, CT11 7SY (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow highway improvement works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Newlands Road, Whitehall Road & A254 Margate Road, Ramsgate, on or after 19th May 2025 until the works have been completed.

Works will be carried out in 3 phases as detailed below:

Phase 1 - Newlands Road will be closed from 19th May 2025 with estimated completion by 13th June 2025. The road will be closed between the junctions of A254 Margate Road and Woodford Avenue, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Woodford Avenue, A254 Margate Road and vice versa.

Phase 2 - Whitehall Road will be closed from 26th May 2025 with estimated completion by 30th May 2025. The road will be closed between the junctions of Nixon Avenue and A254 Margate Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Nixon Avenue, Allenby Road, A254 Margate Road and vice versa.

Phase 3 - A254 Margate Road will be closed from 9th June 2025 with estimated completion by 12th June 2025. The road will be closed between the junctions of Clements Road and Woodford Avenue, between the hours of 19:00 and 07:00 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via A254 Margate Road, B2014 Newington Road, A255 High Street, A255 Park Road, Shah Place and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Preston Road, Ramsgate, CT12 5AS (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow utility works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Preston Road, Ramsgate, on or after 14th May 2025 for up to 10 hours or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from outside Barn Owls Cattery for approximately 200m in a Southeasterly direction, between the hours of 08:00 and 18:00 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Preston Road, B2050 Manston Road, Manston Court Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Victoria Road, Margate, CT9 1RB (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Victoria Road, Margate, on or after 27th May 2025 for up to 4 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed opposite number 58, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Thanet Road, Park Road, Dane Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

West Cliff Avenue, Broadstairs, CT10 1RY (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of West Cliff Avenue, Broadstairs, on or after 27th May 2025 for up to 4 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside Viking, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via West Cliff Avenue, West Cliff Road, Granville Avenue, Granville Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
