Folkestone and Hythe, Multiple Temporary Traffic Regulation Notices
What is happening?
HIGHWAYS
Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, makes or intends to make the following Orders.
FOLKESTONE AND HYTHE AREA
B2068 Stone Street, Stelling Minnis (40MPH SPEED LIMIT) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
To allow fibre works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily impose a mandatory 40MPH speed limit on through traffic on part of B2068 Stone Street, Stelling Minnis, on or after 27th May 2025 for up to 3 days or until the works have been completed.
The speed limit will be imposed between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 only, from outside Park Mead to outside Woodside, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
B2075 High Street, Lydd, TN29 9AR (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of B2075 High Street, Lydd, on or after 29th May 2025 for up to 2 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed opposite the junction of Paddock Close, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via B2075 High Street, B2075 Station Road, Ness Road, Dungeness Road Roundabout, Robin Hood Lane, Tourney Road, High Street and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Beresforstal Hill, Ottinge (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
To allow repair works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Beresforstal Hill, Ottinge, on or after 27th May 2025 for up to 20 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed between the junctions of Slip Road and Canterbury Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Beresforstal Hill, Slip Road, Shuttlesfield Lane, Canterbury Road and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
RusselClubbs Lane, Brookland (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
To allow fibre works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Clubbs Lane, Brookland, on or after 13th May 2025 for up to 7 hours or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed between the junctions of Beacon Lane and Boarmans Lane, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Boarmans Lane, Barnhouse Lane, Tillery Lane, Clubbs Lane and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Farthing Common, Monks Horton, CT18 8DH (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
To allow construction works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Farthing Common, Monks Horton, on or after 12th May 2025 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed between the junctions of B2068 Stone Street and Brady Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Farthing Common, Loughborough Lane, Sandling Road, A20 Sandling Road, A20 Ashford Road, B2068 Stanford Intersection, B2068 Stanford Bypass, B2068 Stone Street and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Horn Street, Hythe, CT21 5SR (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
To allow fibre works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Horn Street, Hythe, on or after 16th May 2025 for up to 5 hours or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed between the junctions of Valestone Close and Seabrook Vale, between the hours of 09:30 and 14:30 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Horn Street, A259 Seabrook Road, B2063 Hospital Hill, B2063 West Road, B2063 North Road, B2063 Military Road, B2063 Risborough Lane, Church Road and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Manor Road, Lydd, TN29 9HX (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
To allow utility works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Manor Road, Lydd, on or after 30th May 2025 for up to 10 hours or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed outside number 49, between the hours of 08:00 and 17:00 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Manor Road, Dungeness Road Roundabout, Robin Hood Lane, Tourney Road, Skinner Road and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Stade Street, Hythe, CT21 5BN (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
To allow highway improvement works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Stade Street, Hythe, on or after 27th May 2025 for up to 2 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed between the junctions of A259 Rampart Road and Portland Road, between the hours of 09:00 and 16:00 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any Southbound through traffic is via A259 Rampart Road, A259 Red Lion Square, A259 Dymchurch Road, Portland Road and Stade Street.
The alternative route for any Northbound through traffic is via Stade Street, Portland Road, A259 Dymchurch Road, A259 Scanlons Bridge, A259 Military Road, A259 Red Lion Square and A259 Rampart Road.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Tile Kiln Lane, Folkestone, CT19 4FL (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
To allow crane works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Tile Kiln Lane, Folkestone, on or after 28th May 2025 for up to 2 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed between the junctions of Ashley Avenue and Surrenden Road, between the hours of 07:00 and 17:00 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Ashley Avenue, B2064 Cheriton High Street, B2064 Cheriton Road, A2034 Cherry Garden Avenue, A259 Churchill Avenue Roundabout, Cherry Garden Lane, Tile Kiln Lane and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
THE KENT COUNTY COUNCIL (VARIOUS ROADS, FOLKESTONE AND HYTHE)
(WAITING RESTRICTIONS AND STREET PARKING PLACES)
(CONSOLIDATION) ORDER 2021 (AMENDMENT 36) 2025
Notice is hereby given that KENT COUNTY COUNCIL intend to make the above Order under sections 1(1), 2(1) to (3), 3(2), 4(1) and (2), 32(1), 35(1), 45, 46, 49, 53 and 122 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, and of all other enabling powers, and after consultation with the chief officer of police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 to the Act:
The Order will revise parking and waiting restrictions in the following roads-Hardwick Road, Bodenham Road, Pelham Gardens, Plain Road, Dixwell Road (between Bouverie Rd West and Sandgate Road), Sandgate Road (between Grimston Avenue and Dixwell Rd), Bouverie Road West (between Grimston Avene and Pelham Gardens).
Between 9:00am and 11:00am, Monday to Friday (excluding bank and public holidays), parking will be restricted to Permit Holders (B) only on Hardwick Road and Bodenham Road.
Between 8am and 8pm, Mondays - Sundays (including bank and public holidays), parking will be restricted to Permit Holders(H )only on Pelham Gardens and Plain Road.
Parking places with a time limit of 2 hours (no return within two hours) between 8am and 8pm Mondays - Sundays (including bank and public holidays) - except for Permit Holders (H) - will be provided in Dixwell Road (between Bouverie Road West and Sandgate Road), Sandgate Road (between Grimston Avenue and Dixwell Road), and Bouverie Road West (between Grimston Avenue and Pelham Gardens).
Permits will be available to a resident of any of the roads mentioned in the second paragraph of this Notice, and to any business or organisation with vehicle(s) essential to its operation.
An annual resident permit will cost £45; and Resident Visitors Permits will cost £10 per 5 sessions. Business Permits will cost £90.
A motorhome parking ban will be in effect from 6:00pm to 7:00am, Monday to Sunday, on all roads mentioned in the second paragraph above.
Waiting will be prohibited at all times in any part of the roads mentioned in the second paragraph of this Notice where parking is not allowed.
A copy of the proposed Order, a copy of any Orders which may be amended by it, and a statement of the council’s reasons for proposing it can be inspected during normal office hours at the Civic Centre, Castle Hill Avenue, Folkestone, CT20 2QY or at https://www.folkestone-hythe.gov.uk/parking
We must receive any representations before 5pm on Friday 30th May 2025for them to be considered. For legal reasons we cannot accept representations over the phone or in person.
