What is happening?

HIGHWAYS

Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984,  makes or intends to make the following Orders.

DARTFORD, GRAVESHAM & SEVENOAKS AREA

VARIOUS ROADS, DARTFORD, GRAVESHAM AND SEVENOAKS (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

Because of carriageway patching, surface treatment and associated preparation, finishing and accommodation works, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on Various Roads, Dartford, Gravesham and Sevenoaks as per the schedule below.

 

 This Order takes effect on or after 26 May 2025 for a period of up to 18 months or until the works have been completed. Planned dates will be published in advance of the works and indicated by signage displayed on site 14 days before they start. This programme is subject to weather and other factors and may therefore change; every effort will be made to keep as close as possible to the programmed dates and duration. Changes will be notified locally and signposted on site.

 DARTFORD

A296 PRINCES ROAD, DARTFORD - 17 June 2025 22:00 - 21 June 2025 05:00

Between Darenth Road and M25 junction 1B roundabout.

16 June 2025 22:00 - 26 June 2025 05:00:

The junctions with Oakwood Close, B260 Green Street Green Road and A296 Park Road will also be closed at the junctions with the A296/A225 Princes Road.

The alternative routes:

A225/A296 Princes Road Diversion - East to West diversion - A225 Lowfield Street, A226 Instone Road, A226 Highfield Road, A226 Westgate Road, A226 Home Gardens, A226 East Hill, A226 The Brent, B2500 Watling Street, A296 Princes Road. West to East Diversion - A296 Princes Road, B2500 Watling Street, A226 The Brent, A226 East Hill, A226 Overy Liberty, A226 Overy Liberty, A226 High Street, A226 Market Street, A226 Lowfield Street and the A225 Lowfield Street.

Oakwood Close - No diversion as this is a no through route. Access to be maintained as and when it is safe to do so.

B260 Green Street Green Road, Gore Road, A296 Princes Road and vice versa.

A296 Park Road - A226 The Brent, B2500 Watling Street, A296 Princes Road and vice versa.

GRAVESHAM

HARVEL ROAD, MEOPHAM - 26 May 2025 20:00 - 6 June 2025 06:00

From Southfield Shaw to White Horse Road.

WHITE HORSE ROAD, MEOPHAM/HARVEL - 29 May 2025 20:00 - 5 June 2025 06:00

From Harvel Road to Holly Hill

HARVEL LANE – MEOPHAM - 26 May 2025 20:00 - 6 June 2025 06:00

Closed at the junction with Harvel Road.

The alternative routes:

White Horse Road, Birling Hill, Stangate Road, Snodland Road, Bull Road, A228 Ashton Way, A20 London Road, A227 Gravesend Road, Harvel Road and vice versa.

Diversion for Harvel Lane: Harvel Lane, David Street, Whitehill Road, The Street, A227 Wrotham Road, A227 Gravesend Road, Harvel Road and vice versa.

 

 SEVENOAKS

A225 SEVENOAKS ROAD, OTFORD - 9 June 2025 22:00 - 20 June 2025 06:00

Closed between Vestry Road and Cramptons Road.

A225 OTFORD ROAD, SEVENOAKS - 11 June 2025 22:00 - 18 June 2025 06:00

The alternative routes:

For Light vehicles - A225 Otford Road, A25 Bradbourne Vale Road, A25 Maidstone Road, A224 London Road, London Road, Pilgrims Way West, High Street (Otford), Sevenoaks Road and vice versa.

HGV’s to be escorted through site via Traffic Management operatives.
