Temporary Traffic Management Order of South Street (Part), Dorchester

DORSET COUNCIL intend, not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. The order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 2 May 2025 and will remain in force for 18 months.

This Order will enable Jordan & Faber, safe access to carry out works to properties damaged by fire incident.

The effect of this Order will be:

[1] To impose temporary road closure on South Street, Dorchester from its junction with New Street for a distance of approximately 55 metres in a southerly direction.

[2] To revoke the one way on New Street for its entirety to allow for access and egress for South Street.

Temporary Traffic Management Order of Coombe Road, Winterbourne Steepleton

DORSET COUNCIL has made an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. The Order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 05 May 2025 and will remain in force for 18 months, however it is anticipated that the works will be completed between 24 June 2025 and 07 July 2025.

This Order will enable Dorset Council to carry out carriageway surface treatment works.

The effect of the Order is as follows:

[1] To impose a temporary speed restriction of 10mph to facilitate the use of a convoy working vehicle along COOMBE ROAD, WINTERBOURNE STEEPLETON between its junction with B3159 and its junction with Bishop’s Road, a distance of approximately 3600 metres.

[2] To impose a parking suspension, as indicated by signs on site, to prevent parking on the highway along COOMBE ROAD, WINTERBOURNE STEEPLETON between its junction with B3159 and its junction with Bishop’s Road, a distance of approximately 3600 metres.

[3] To impose a clearway, as indicated by signs on site, to prevent waiting on the highway along COOMBE ROAD, WINTERBOURNE STEEPLETON between its junction with B3159 and its junction with Bishop’s Road, a distance of approximately 3600 metres.

Any vehicle waiting in contravention of any restriction imposed by this Order may be removed under the provisions of the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986. Please note that the dates are a window of opportunity and the road may not be occupied for the whole duration stated above and the works are weather dependant.

It will come into operation on 05 May 2025 and will remain in force for 18 months, however it is anticipated that the works will be completed between 15 July 2025 and 29 July 2025.

This Order will enable Dorset Council to carry out carriageway surface treatment works.

The effect of the Order is as follows:

[3] To impose a clearway, as indicated by signs on site, to prevent waiting on the highway along A352 between its junction with B3146 and its junction with Tiley Knap, a distance of approximately 2325 metres.

[4] To impose a temporary speed restriction of 10mph to facilitate the use of a convoy working vehicle along TILEY KNAP between its junction with A352 and the entrance to Lyons Head Farm, a distance of approximately 1090 metres.

[5] To impose a parking suspension, as indicated by signs on site, to prevent parking on the highway along TILEY KNAP between its junction with A352 and the entrance to Lyons Head Farm, a distance of approximately 1090 metres.

[6] To impose a clearway, as indicated by signs on site, to prevent waiting on the highway along TILEY KNAP between its junction with A352 and the entrance to Lyons Head Farm, a distance of approximately 1090 metres.

Dorset Council Traffic Management Scheme, Clarence Road and Queens Avenue, Dorchester

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of Dorset proposes to make an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended.

The general effect of the order will be to:

• Revoke a section of no waiting restrictions along part of Clarence Road, Dorchester

• Introduce no waiting at any time and no loading at any time restrictions along parts of Clarence Road and Queens Avenue, Dorchester

As part of the traffic management scheme, Dorset Council in exercise of powers under Section 23 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 intends to install a new zebra crossing along Clarence Road, Dorchester (at the junction with Queens Avenue, Dorchester).

As part of the traffic management scheme, Dorset Council in exercise of powers under Section 90A of the Highways Act 1980 Dorset Council hereby gives notice that it proposes to construct a raised table (75mm high, 30 metres long on Clarence Road) by 20 metres wide (across Queens Avenue), with pedestrian zebra crossing point.

Temporary Closure of Public Footpath S21/15 Frampton and S29/15 Maiden Newton

DORSET COUNCIL has made an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All pedestrians, horse riders and cyclists will be prohibited from proceeding along Public Footpaths S21/15 and S29/15, from grid reference SY 621 948 to grid reference SY 614 957, a distance of approximately 1240 metres. The Order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations, which require the provision of safe areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users.

It will come into operation on 06 May 2025 for a period of 26 weeks, however, it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 23 May 2025. It can be extended with the approval of the Secretary of State for Transport, if necessary.

This Order will enable Dorset Council to carry out refurbishment of the Hydeland Farm footbridge.

The alternative route will be; From grid reference SY 621 948 head northwest along the lane to join bridleway S21/14 at Notton, a distance of approximately 1680 metres. Head north along Back Lane for a distance of approximately 140 metres. Head southeast along footpath S29/16 for a distance of approximately 270 metres. It will come into operation on 5 May 2025 and will remain in force for 18 months, however, it is anticipated that the works will be carried out between 26 June 2025 and 9 July 2025 and working times will be between 0500hrs and 1700hrs, works will not take place at night, over the weekend or on Bank Holidays.

This Order will enable Dorset Council to carry out surface dressing works.

The effect of this Order will be:

[1] To impose temporary road closure on Poundbury Road from its junction with Muckleford Road

[2] To impose temporary clearway on Poundbury Road from its junction with Muckleford Road to prevent vehicles from stopping except those associated with the works

Any vehicle in contravention of any restriction imposed by this Notice may be removed under the provisions of the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986. If a vehicle has been towed the owner will need to contact our towing contractors Ashleywood Recovery Ltd/Bride Valley Recovery Ltd on 01305 889421.

A locally signed diversion route will be put in place to enable traffic to travel around the closed sections.

All vehicles will be prohibited from proceeding along Old Castle Road, Weymouth between its junctions with Belle Vue Road and Sudan Road, a distance of approximately 185 metres. The Order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 6 May 2025 and will remain in force for 18 months, however it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 16 May 2025.

This Order will enable Dorset Council to carry out essential highway maintenance works.

The Order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 5 May 2025 and will remain in force for 18 months, however, it is anticipated that the works will be carried out between 20 June 2025 and 3 July 2025, working times will be between the hours of 7am and 5pm, works will not take place at night, over the weekend or on Bank Holidays.

This Order will enable Dorset Council to carry out surface dressing works.

The effect of this Order will be:

[1] To impose temporary road closure on B3159 between its junction with the C53 and the top of Goulds Hill

[2] To impose temporary clearway on B3159 between its junction with the C53 and the top of Goulds Hill

Please note that any vehicle waiting in contravention of temporary parking restrictions may be removed under the provisions of the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986. If a vehicle has been removed, the owner must contact the Council’s vehicle recovery contractor: Ashleywood Recovery Ltd/Bride Valley Recovery Ltd on 01305 889421.
