Royal Parade - Temporary Prohibition of Driving For Bus Improvement Scheme
What is happening?
PLYMOUTH CITY COUNCIL
THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH (ROYAL PARADE) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) ORDER 2025
NOTICE is hereby given that Plymouth City Council acting under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended), intend to make an Order the effect of which is:
1. To close the bus lane on:
- Royal Parade - eastbound for its entirety (2/6/25 - 31/1/26 24hrs)
2. To prohibit the driving of vehicles in:
- Royal Parade - at a speed exceeding 20mph for its entirety (2/6/25 - 31/1/26 24hrs)
- Royal Parade - eastbound for its entirety (4/11/25- 4/1/26 19:00-06:00)
- Royal Parade - for its entirety (4/11/25-4/1/26 19:00- 06:00)
- Royal Parade - no left-hand turn into Courtenay Street (4/11/25-4/1/26 19:00-06:00)
The prohibition of driving will be in operation on the days and during the hours that the appropriate traffic signs are displayed. The Order shall come into force on 2nd June 2025 and shall continue in force for a maximum of 18 months.
It is anticipated that the Royal Parade bus improvement scheme will commence on a phased basis 2nd June 2025 - 31st January 2026, dates and times as above.
