Footpath 138 Stockport - Temporary Closure For Contractors To Undertake Works
What is happening?
THE METROPOLITAN BOROUGH COUNCIL OF STOCKPORT (FOOTPATH 138 STOCKPORT) (TEMPORARY CLOSURE) NOTICE 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Metropolitan Borough Council of Stockport has made an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, the effect of which will be to temporarily close Footpath 138 Stockport between Mersey Road and Burnage Lane, Heaton Mersey whilst traffic signs to that effect are in place on or near the said public footpath. This Order is necessary to allow contractors to undertake works in connection with the Heaton Mersey Common/Heatons Cycle Link Scheme.
It is anticipated that the maximum duration of the works will be 6 months. Alternative routes will be signed on site the route will be closed at different times at various points.
This Order came into operation on the 2 May 2025 and will have effect for six months, provided that if all necessary works are completed within a shorter period this Order shall cease to have effect at the end of that shorter period. Ref: ZA/8185744.
