TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER 2025

Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council propose to make an order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 not less than seven days from the date hereof the Highway Authority being satisfied that access to the said road should be prohibited because works are being or are proposed to be carried out on or near the road.

The effect of the Order, which will come into effect on 12th May 2025, will be to temporarily close the lengths of road specified in the Schedule below at such times as traffic management signs may be erected to notify highway users of the closure. It is expected that works will be carried out from 12th May 2025 for approxiamtely 57 weeks. The Order may continue in force for a maximum period of eighteen months.

Schedule 1

ROAD TO BE CLOSED: those parts of the following roads - West side of northbound carrriageway approximately 206 metres north of Jubilee Bridge.

Queen Elizabeth Way (WEEKEND CLOSURE ONLY
ANTICIPATED JUNE 2026) - between the roundabout with The Rings and the roundabout with Concorde Way, Ingleby Brwick

ALTERNATIVE ROUTE: will be signed via the following roads - A66, Thornaby Road, Ingleby Way. Reverse route applies.

The diversion route will be signed at the time of closure.

Reasonable facilities will be provided to allow access to adjacent premises while the work is being carried out.

Schedule 2
TEMPORARY 40MPH SPEED LIMIT: those parts of the following roads -
From a point approximately 100 metres south of its junctions with Concorde Way/Kingfisher Way/Bowesfield Lane to its junction with Lowfields Avenue/Myton Way/The Rings at ‘Quarry Farm Roudabout’.
