What is happening?

THE LEICESTER (CONSOLIDATION) TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER 2006 (AMENDMENT) (DUNS LANE) (No.382) ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that The Leicester City Council HAS MADE an Order under Sections 1, 2, 4, 5, 32, 35 and Part IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and of all other enabling powers and after consultation with the Chief Officer of police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 to the Act, hereby mode the following Order:-

The effect of this Order is set out below and will be to amend the existing restrictions already in force on the streets listed below, by way of amendment to the Leicester (Consolidation) Traffic Regulation Order 2006:-

Duns Lane
East side

1. Revoke the existing restrictions between 8 metres north of Westbridge Close to its junction with Western Boulevard

2. Introduce no waiting at any time and no loading between Mon-Fri 7.30am- 9.30am or 4.00pm-6.00pm from a point 8 metres north of Westbridge Close to a point 44 metres south of its junction with Westbridge Close

3. Introduce a 1 hour limited waiting bay, No return within 1 hour Mon- Sat 9.30am-4pm from a point 44 metres to 59 metres south of its junction with Westbridge Close.

4. Introduce no waiting at any time and no loading between Mon-Fri 7.30am- 9.30am or 4.00pm-6.00pm from a point 59 metres south of its junction with Westbridge Close to its junction with Western Boulevard.

West Side

5. Revoke the existing restrictions between New Park Street and 8 metres north of a point opposite Westbridge Close.

6. Introduce no waiting at any time and no loading between Mon-Fri 7.30am- 9.30am or 4.00pm-6.00pm from its junction with New Park Street to a point 8 metres north of a point opposite Westbridge Close.

A COPY of the Order, the relevant plan, the Council’s statement of reasons for making the Order and extract copies of the Order being amended may be seen at Leicester City Council-website: www.leicester.gov.uk/trafficregulationorders or by calling 0116 454 1001, or email transport.strategy@leicester.gov.uk and requesting a paper copy to be sent via post.

If you wish to question the validity of the Order (which was made on the 30th April 2025) or of any provisions contained in it on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or on the grounds that any requirement of that Act, or of any instrument made under it has not been complied with in relation to the Order, you may, within six weeks from the 30th April 2025 apply to the High Court for this purpose.

THIS ORDER WILL COME INTO FORCE ON 4th MAY 2025
