Wiltshire, Multiple Traffic Notices - Temporary Road Closures
What is happening?
SECTION 14(1) OF THE ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
Notice is hereby given that the Wiltshire Council intends to make Orders to close temporarily to all traffic:
A) Station Road (Part), Great Wishford; from its junction with South Street to its junction with West Street to enable Wessex Internet to carry out lay approximately 230m duct and build chambers. Alternative route via West Street – South Street and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 26 May 2025 and the closure will be required until 11 June 2025. B) Conholt Hill (Part), Chute; from its junction with Conholt Lane to its junction with Hippenscombe Bottom to enable Wiltshire Council to carry out surface patching and associated works. Alternative route via Fosbury Road – High Street – Upton Road – Conholt Lane and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 28 May 2025 and the closure will be required between the hours of 09:00 and 16:00 for 1 day. C) C294 (Part), Durnford; from its property known as Appletree Cottage for a distance of approximately 50m in a south westerly direction to enable Scottish and Southern Power Distribution to carry out equipment upgrade and associated works. Alternative route via C294 (unaffected length) – C42 – C294 (unaffected length) and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 04 June 2025 and the closure will be required between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 for 1 day. D) Old Malthouse Lane, Laverstock, Ford and Firsdown; from its junction with A338 to its junction with A30 to enable Wiltshire Council to carry out verge overrun and associated works. Alternative route via A30 – A338 and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 27 May 2025 and the closure will be required between the hours of 07:30 and 17:00 until 30 May 2025. E) C293 (Part), Allington; from its junction with Wyndham Lane for a distance of approximately 61m in a north easterly direction.
F) Wyndham Lane (Part), Allington; from its junction with C293 for a distance of approximately 50m in a north westerly direction to enable Wessex Water to carry out replacing manhole cover and associated works. Alternative route via C293 (unaffected length) – A338 – C293 (unaffected length) and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 27 May 2025 and the closure will be required until 29 May 2025. Notice is hereby given that the Wiltshire Council has made Orders to close temporarily to all traffic:
G) C321 (Part), Pitton and Farley; from its junction with High Street for a distance of approximately 50m in a north westerly direction to enable Wiltshire Council to carry out repairs to bridge parapet following vehicle strike and associated works. Alternative route via C321 (unaffected length) – A30 – Firs Road – C332 – High Street and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 06 May 2025 and the closure will be required until 09 May 2025. For further information please contact Wiltshire Council on 01225 718063.
H) C336 (Part), Downton; from its property known as Witherington Farm for a distance of approximately 1.5km in a south easterly direction to enable Scottish and Southern Power Distribution to carry out pole inspections and associated works. Alternative route via C336 (unaffected length) – B3080 – A338 – A36 – C324 – C336 (unaffected length) and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 09 May 2025 and the closure will be required between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 for 1 day. I) C289 (Part), Grimstead; from its junction with Green Drove to its junction with C323 to enable Wiltshire Council to carry out verge overrun repairs and associated works. Alternative route via C289 (unaffected length) – C331 – C321 and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 06 May 2025 and the closure will be required between the hours of 07:30 and 17:00 until 16 May 2025. For further information please contact Wiltshire Council on 07743 981695. Orders A) to I) will have a maximum duration of 18 months. The closures and diversion routes will be clearly indicated by traffic signs. It is anticipated that the works will take the stated duration to complete depending upon weather conditions. Access will be maintained for residents and businesses where possible, although delays are likely due to the nature of the works.
NOTICE OF CONFIRMATION OF AN ORDER HIGHWAYS ACT 1980 SECTION 118 AND WILDLIFE AND COUNTRYSIDE ACT 1981
THE WILTSHIRE COUNCIL PARISH OF PITTON AND FARLEY FOOTPATH 33 EXTINGUISHMENT AND DEFINITIVE MAP AND STATEMENT MODIFICATION ORDER 2025.
The above order, confirmed as made on 22 April 2025, under Section 118 of the Highways Act 1980, will extinguish the entire width of that length of footpath, over land at White Hill, Pitton, leading from OS Grid Reference SU 2132-3073 in a broadly north westerly direction for approximately 300 metres to OS Grid Reference SU 2106-3087. Thereupon the Salisbury and Wilton Rural District Council Area Definitive Map and Statement dated 1953 shall be modified accordingly.

NOTICE OF CONFIRMATION OF AN ORDER HIGHWAYS ACT 1980 SECTION 26 AND WILDLIFE AND COUNTRYSIDE ACT 1981
THE WILTSHIRE COUNCIL PARISH OF PITTON AND FARLEY BRIDLEWAY 33 CREATION AND DEFINITIVE MAP AND STATEMENT MODIFICATION ORDER 2025.
The above order, confirmed as made on 22 April 2025 under Section 26 of the Highways Act 1980, will create a public bridleway over land at White Hill, Pitton, leading from OS Grid Reference SU 2132-3073 in a broadly northerly direction for 160 metres to OS Grid Reference SU 2130-3087, having a width of 4 metres. Thereupon the order the Salisbury and Wilton Rural District Council Area Definitive Map and Statement dated 1953 shall be modified accordingly.
